How likely is it to get water in there?
Unlikely at all. Not sure where the water would come from or how this is possible. Even if you spill water on the back bench, you will need a shit load of water to soak through those bench cushion, before it hits that area.

I think they mean the cubby in the back bed

I reread the OP post, and I believe you are correct.

@mamboman777

I misunderstood your thread topic. If you have a good tonneau cover on your Maverick bed, I do not believe those two cubby storage spaces will get wet.

I am planning to keep a few small items in them, but I will store them in a zip lock bag with desiccant packs to keep everything dry.

I was thinking about using it to cool some brewskis, but I wouldn't want to do that unless there's a drain. So, I thought I'd ask.

Use a plastic bag (or 2) for a liner, add ice, add beverages, drink, remove plastic liner, then dumped the melted ice.

I know the Santa Cruz and Ridgeline have drains, but friends do not let friends buy them;)

I mean, there is a bottle opener on the bed….I don’t know if you had heard about that yet. Oh, and they also cut off the door handles so 1L bottles can fit upright in the door. 🤣

That's to say that there isn't one in there already?
Oh, sorry, I don't know if it does or not. But if not it is easily fixed with the above tool.
