I have a 2024 Maverick XLT Hybrid. I went to the airport two weeks ago and left my truck in economy parking for three days >> Friday, Saturday, and returned at 1PM Sunday. The battery was DEAD DEAD! I had the keys with me on the trip, no lights left on...any ideas what happened? I jumped started with my Lithium Ion battery pack and drove home. No problems since.

I presume you got a notification in FordPass about remote features being disabled. At what point during the 2 weeks did that come in?

Sorry, I got nothing from Ford or FordPass about remote features. The only thing I have from Ford is the tail light recall.

Do you have the FordPass app installed and use it? I know some don't.

At any rate the reason I was curious was how quickly it entered deep sleep mode. The hybrid's 12v battery is very small and the charging strategy determined by the battery monitoring system can be less than ideal.

Short version: I am not at all surprised your hybrid battery died after not starting for 2 weeks.

Do you think leaving it in the economy parking lot has something to do with it ? I heard that these Mavericks like to be parked in premium....

Jokes aside, when did you get the truck and how many miles on it ? Lots of short trips are not good for these though the system should have went into a battery saver mode instead. Hard to say.

Best explanation of why all these battery issues are occurring. Though it does seem unusual that it would go from normal to completely dead that fast.

From the response (or specifically, the lack there of), I assume Ford is betting most peoples batteries will (barely) make it past the 3 year/36,000 mile warranty period before dieing completely, then it's not their problem any more.

Someone posted that in order to change the battery size or type, they would have to resubmit the vehicle to have the fuel economy recertified. Which if true, there's no way that's going to happen, hence an additional reason for the refusal to acknowledge the battery issue.

Perhaps I was not clear. The Maverick was only in the lot (not run) for 53 hours (2.25 days).
Well that is DIFFERENT than your original post sounded and makes this more unusual.

Most likely a bad connection somewhere. Hard to find. But it will probably happen again if that's the case.

Regardless of the reason, the battery is probably weak. It may even be defective. You should try putting it on a battery maintainer as soon as possible to make sure it is fully charged. Don't depend on the truck to bring it up to a fully charged state, because it probably won't. Repeat anytime you want be driving the vehicle for a few days.

We went out to a dead battery after just sitting overnight. It has been in the shop for over 3 weeks now. They can not find anything that caused it. And neither can Ford. In the meantime, we are driving a rental car they provided.

FWIW = Hybrid 2022 lariat loaded owned 27 months 28k miles never failed to start. About one week ago, I pulled into garage and shut down truck and it was near sunset with somewhat low light. I exited and double locked, which I do about 2/3 of time and watch the dash and infotainment screens to verify the early shut down of the delay off items. I noticed that the infotainment screen apparently did not completely turn off as there was a faint "snow" of maybe 20 pixels randomly flashing. I ASSUME that for some reason maybe low voltage or something else that maybe an electronic non air gap switch did not completely zero current draw. I restarted truck and shut it down again including double lock. Screen went dark with no "snow". I had unlatched hood so I put my noco genius 5 on the jump posts. I have not had any noticable issues since.

Modern vehicles, modern problems.there is so much draining batteries on new vehicles nowadays.i have a Classic car,it will go over a month without starting and the battery is fine. Still you wouldn't think your battery would go dead in 3 days.

We had a similar issue with out 24 EB with approx. 500 miles on it. We normally drive the maverick once or twice a week for maybe 10 miles total. and one night a few hours after we got home I received an alerts from ford pass about killing things to save the battery. I then drove it for maybe 20 miles with no ac on or anything and it did the same for me again. Both times it started fine with a jump pack. I charged it overnight and it seems to be fine now but it was really weird that it did this. I did not leave any lights on or a door open that I can tell. I have to take it to the dealer for the tail light recall in a week or so and I will mention it to them. Maybe I just have a bad battery....or at least I hope that is the issue.
