My XLT with Co-pilot 360 will pick up a vehicle coming from the side but does not have proximity sensors to keep from backing into stuff. Not sure how fast/big an approaching person would have to be to trigger the alarm. Be interesting to see what Glen can show us.
One of these days, I want to check out the forward alert and emergency braking using...👇👇👇👇👇

I checked it today, and don't see any place where the sensors could be. I waited all those months just to have a nice pic when backing up 😂

Getting it done. Tech connected the battery to his truck and also gave me a heads up that it will take 1-2hrs. Got his laptop and asked for wifi connection. Took an hour and right before he left , noticed my engine light is on. Good thing he’s still on my driveway. Here waiting to see what the engine light was about ….

after another 5 min- tech said it’s part of the software update where he has to clear the codes which he did But for some reason, it came back

he said it should be good now. If its returns, driving a few miles will clear. If not, call them back to schedule another mobile appt 🤞

Just attempted to have my 2024 Terrain Tremor's recall done at my office. Mobile tech was able to install something (I can see the camera comes on much quicker than it used to when selecting reverse), but he said the screen on his computer showed 100% but wouldn't complete things and clear his screen.

So it may have installed the update, but he couldn't get a confirmation which is needed by Ford.

Dealership (Jarrett Ford in Plant City. FL) says they'll have a closer look at it this coming Monday at their facility.

Seems like the recall procedure is flawed.

Get ready for a recall fix soon.

I haven't been contacted by my local dealership. My camera to the best of my knowledge hasn't frozen on me. I tend to use my mirrors mostly, but sense the recall came up, I decided to look at my screen more. I never have seen it freeze. I'll wait as long as possible to have this recall done.

took 2 hours today. 23 xlt. Still useless. Rear image looks dirty even though the lens is clean. Will have to investigate more.
Had it back in today for the blurred image and Ford will replace the camera under warranty. Have to order the part, naturally. Another week.

The bumper detectors and audible warnings are optional. Includes the side warnings in package.
Easy test if you have it.

Rear Parking Aid Audible Warnings

A warning tone sounds when your vehicle approaches an object. As your vehicle moves closer to an object, the rate of the tone increases. The warning tone continuously sounds when an object is 12 in (30 cm) or less from the rear bumper.
If your vehicle remains stationary for a few seconds, the audible warning turns off. If your vehicle moves backward the tone sounds again.
Note: When the parking aid system sounds a tone, the audio system may reduce the set volume.

Just had a mobile tech come out this morning and take care of the update in my 2023 XLT. Poor kid showed up and said he would be in and out in 10 minutes. Hour and a half later he was done.

So far everything has been good with the camera but the biggest change I have noticed is that my screen is no longer super dim. This has been a complaint of mine on my 2023 XLT since I got it. If its bright out I could barely read the screen, even with the brightness at max. Now its much brighter and comparable to my 2025.

All together a success here.

Did you notice anything with the radio sound going down compared to what it was before? Mine did, have to turn it up just a little bit more compared to before update. Or could be going more deaf! 😉

I didn’t. I pretty much exclusively use CarPlay while in the vehicle. Not sure if that makes a difference. Just checked it it’s at 12 on the volume dial which is the same as before the update.

Correct.. especially when streaming over the internet.. not the radio p(AM-FM) player.. When the computer is multitasking ..it's no super computer.. Over the internet it buffers signal.. that's why you can hear your music when you go under into a underpass of short tunnel.. or loose internet connectivity, between cell towers..
So the video camera is software defined, it that it "listens to the camera sensor then connects and decodes it's stream and arranges it into pixels on the screen that becomes the picture you see.. Video needs to be much faster than audio.. That's the glitch.

Ham Radio operators can unplug their microphone and send video around the world. So a guy in Kansas can send his picture to a ham in Italy.. this is how I look or this is my house.. However they have to slow down the video.. to microphone speeds .. those video's it takes 8 seconds to produce a single frame.. Think of it as a snapshot.. 8 seconds. Video is 20-30 frames per second, at least 20x8, 160 times faster, that's why it can freeze.

When you have music streaming and back up video going at the came time they overload the processor.. Too much, too fast...

THE ULTIMATE FIX short of installing a faster processor/ more memory, just might be suspend streaming audio, while backing up... That just may be the fix.. Who knows??.. It would only effect streaming audio, not AM-FM radio.. and end video freezing.

Regardless of whether you have experienced a frozen rear view or not, you should have the update installed. It has vastly improved the overall stability of my infotainment unit and the screen is noticeably brighter. I've only had one lockup in months and it no longer has audio pops on a random basis. Prior to the update, I had a least one freeze a month requiring the hard reset and random pops at least once a week.

EDIT: Looking at your signature, it says you have a 24 Lariat which should have standard Sync 3 (or at least the USA models did). If that's the case, this recall doesn't apply to you. I would double check by running your VIN on the NHTSA website. I'm also not really sure if any of that applies to vehicles outside of the USA.
