Wait, what? You're saying the intelligent AWD system is not so intelligent in reverse? No rear bias at all?

If we get some more snow, I need to see this.....

The Tremor has AWD lock, so I can't believe it would be this way?
The Tremor does have the AWD lock however his Maverick is not a Tremor even though he has the painted orange tow hook.(y)

Did you even read the OP's original post? He was comparing his AWD Mav to a Tremor, wondering if they would perform differently.

Yes I read it. The photo showed a Maverick that at a glance might look like a Tremor.
Just need that off/road valance to fit with larger 4K tow radiator :)

A little extra lift might help too. How deep was the snow?(y)
Already have 1.8 inch lift thankfully. Deep AF snow ruts - on the way out I was surprised by what the Maverick could do.

I haven't driven in snow for decades, but I know that you're not doing yourself any favors by cocking the wheel to full lock and trying to move. I'd leave the wheel as straight as possible until I got some movement.

Sadly I have to report one of my fears in getting another "Part time AWD" vehicle- In reverse- the rear wheels don't engage much like my 2004 Honda element- Hence getting stuck twice in heavy/wet snow on Planet Hoth/West-

That's true - I balanced out more straight on departure attempt number 6 -)

Looks like factory rubber. Blizzaks would help

also I didn’t read this thread but Sand mode acts closest to 4WD and is great in deep snow. But I’ll take my 4WD Tacoma over my Mav if snow is serious.

Umm those are 245/65's Toyo AT3s and they are three peak/snow rated - Agree on sand it works better than mud/ruts - Amazed that after extraction I was able to 6 point turn without getting stuck again while in Sand mode in a challenging in any rig type situation !
