Wednesday night when we go in the truck (which is always parked inside the garage) this notification came on the sync 3 screen:

Ford Maverick Automatic Crash Notification System Off warning IMG_1052

After searching the owners manual, this is what we found:
the automatic crash shutoff is designed to stop the fuel going to the engine in the event of a moderate or severe crash.

we drove to church (20 minute ride) and it was showing on the screen the entire time. Never have seen that before. When we came out of church and started the truck, it started fine and the notification was gone. What I would like to know is what would have turned it off in the first place?

I'm replying to this just to get a bump. I have never seen that warning so I can't help. Perhaps someone else with more knowledge will reply.

I think what you are looking at are two different things. This message is for the notification system, not the system you found in the owners manual. If I recall correctly that notification system is for alerting emergency services in the event of a crash being detected.

The notification system will be deactivated under a few conditions, 1) the LTE modem in the truck cannot make a cellar connection, 2) Low 12v battery/deep sleep condition, 3) The vehicle owner turns off this feature in the vehicle settings. 4) It may be linked to the telomatics system, if you have pulled fuse 11, it will be disabled.

Well, it’s the first time we got that message on our infotainment screen. The picture I posted from the manual was what showing on the screen. So not sure what other system you are referring to. My phone was connected, no low battery/deep sleep, AGM battery is only several months old, feature has not been turned off, since I have no idea how to do that, and # 11 fuse has never been touched. Truck had been inside the garage and this notification occurred when we started the truck to go to church. The notification stayed on the screen during the 20 minute drive to church. Truck did not drive any different. We parked the truck at church, turned it off and went to our evening service. When we came out of church and started the truck for our drive home. the notification was gone. We have had the truck almost 3 years, and had never gotten that notification before, even when the truck was going into deep sleep before the dealer finally changed the flooded battery for the AGM. Just wondered what triggered it?

Could have been the AT&T cell signals was not available in your area for the modem to connect. Thanks for posting this. Now I will look for the setting on mine to see if it is on or off.

I pulled the telematics fuse 11 close to 2 years ago and I have never had any Notice come up.
I also have the 911 notification system turned off.

We don’t use AT&T, and phone was connected.

Ford does. Your phone isn't the issue it is the Maverick modem trying to connect to Ford servers. I could be wrong but I believe the Maverick uses AT&T to communicate.

I've only seen this notification once. One morning I was in a rush and didnt warm Mav up. When I started up and took off I got the notice. However once the heavy frost cleared from the wind shield, the notice disappeared

Where is the sensor? The truck is almost 3 years old, always parked in the garage and this was the first time we got that notice, and the next time we started the truck, after church, it was no longer there. So maybe a dirty sensor? Communication issue?

The sensors look like little buttons in the bumper covers. I also have cameras for 360. They also report to the system. If any are blocked or dirty, you get a notice.it could be a leaf or spot of dirt or anything that caused it. It could have blown away during your drive and cleared on the next startup.

That notification system probably has a few sensors or a module it needs a read from, to know if it can notify. Like the modem.

Something as simple as a timing issue of no read for the milliseconds it needs a response - you'll get the error.

Does not mean the actions that happen as part of the crash shutoff are prevented from working.
In fact - I'd bet the relay or switch that shuts off the fuel would throw a very serious error message if it appeared it could not operate. That feature has been around since before the 80's, probably mandated.

I'm sure if you had a scanner read module error logs - there is one like I get frequently on the AC module or radio module - failed to communicate with the PCM, or Display, ect.
For the moment during a start - there was a glitch. But because it communicated later - no lights shown.
But it's in the error logs.

You may never see it again. Or the electrons may be perfectly aligned some future time.
