In general, I have wondered to myself after reading about Mav's electrical problems, how many are due to wiring and connector issues as illustrated? This, as opposed to software.

Every connector is a potential failure point, and the more current you pass, the greater the risk of connector damage from heat. I'm astonished that the tiny USB connectors on phones actually seem to work as well as they do.

Got a 2022 2.0L Maverick I picked up in Oct 2021. Changed the battery a few weeks back. Now, I am getting a "Charging system service soon". Once yesterday and another time a couple of weeks ago. Checked the terminals and they are tight.

Decided to check out connector C1050 per SSM 50973, but I can't seem to find it.

Do you have to take out the left headlight to access the connector C1050?

SSM 50973

2022 Maverick – 2.0L – Charging System Warning Indicator With DTCs U012D:00, U0284:00 And/Or U042E:00 Stored In The PCM - Built On Or Before 04-Apr-2022

Some 2022 Maverick vehicles built on or before 4-Apr-2022 equipped with 2.0L engine may exhibit a charging system warning indicator with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) U012D, U0284 and/or U042E stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). The vehicle may also exhibit a malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with DTCs P0036:00 and/or P0138:00 stored in the PCM. This may be caused by water intrusion in the connector C1050. Prior to performing Workshop Manual (WSM) diagnostics, inspect the male and/or female connector C1050 for signs of corrosion or water intrusion. If water or corrosion is found, replace the male and/or female connector C1050 with a pigtail kit and apply dielectric grease.

Trying to find part numbers for the new connectors. C1050 pcm does not seem to help much.
