Only 700 miles and got this warning 2x in sucession today, “Charging System Service Soon."
After reading a couple of posts here about this problem, I checked the positive battery terminal cable at the post and it was loose to the point where I could move the cable and metal from side to side. See photo.
Also, read another post about the serpentine belt being off-track. Mine might be since in the photo, it's definitely not centered where I'm pointing. Could anybody tell me if that looks off-track?
Never had any problems like this before on my Subarus, esp. not when almost brand new.
Thanks

Should have said it's an ecoboost engine and engine sounds normal. I'll try doing my short drive to work tomorrow and see it tightening that nut fixed the problem.

Well, that is just an idler wheel.
No grooves so it is meant to float a little.
It's most important for everything else to line up. That wheel does not worry me personally. BUT, I'm not there to judge the rest.

I've got that same warning, too. I called the dealer and they told me it was probably the battery. I should've pressed for a better answer because the way the guy talked I think he thought I had a hybrid.

I tried to hook it up to my OBD reader, too, but it didn't show any fault code. Kinda like it resets itself and clears the code when the warning disappears. There's no log of it after it goes away either.

I've been having the same thing for a while now. I had the battery and alternator checked by a trusted indy shop and both seemed good. Cables are tight and belt looks good. I plan to take it to Ford in the near future for the camera recall so I'll bug em at that point.

Thanks for the replies.
I drove to work today and didn't get the warning. Either it was a glitch or me tightening the positive battery post clamp did the trick. I will have service check it when I go in for my first oil change around 1,000 miles or so.

24MY sitting on the lot for 3 months with unknown time to sell it due to unknown time of recall being done.

Probably disconnected the battery at some point, and forgot to tighten it well putting it back.
Disconnect it too late might have run down the battery too.

HeyBales-I think you're right. my Maverick did sit on their lot for 3.5 months because I tried to buy it in Novermber right before the stop-sale hit.

If no one else has done so, go ahead and put it on a battery maintainer for a while. Then reset the BMS and let it sit locked, for at least 8 hrs.

@Maverick Teacher - for sure this, because if they couldn't be bothered to tighten a battery cable, you know they didn't do this in their rush.

Probably used a maintainer when they did the recall upgrade because part of process, but not more than needed to move on to the next truck.

It definitely was the loose cable on the + post since I've never gotten the warning since then.
