I'm sure some will think of this as a feature but my auto stop/start hasn't worked in about 3 weeks. I'm in Minnesota so temps have been between 60 and 0 degrees lately. I have driven up to an hour and at every stop the symbol x-ing out the auto-stop appears. At first, the dash status would show "Normal Operation" while I was moving, and as soon as I stopped it switched to "Vehicle On Due to Charging". In the warmer months, this never happened. A few times recently I have seen "Normal Operation" at a stop but it still does not turn off.
  • Changing the driving mode hasn't helped (Eco, Normal, Slippery)
  • I have a 15-minute commute via highway every day.
  • Parked in an insulated but not heated garage.
  • Switching off the heated seats/mirrors/steering wheel has no effect

This morning fully rested the battery was 11.89v. The running voltage was 13.05v. Has anyone else experienced this? With those numbers, I'm thinking I need to take it in.

I'm in Georgia and I'm pretty used to the first really cold bit of weather messing with cars pretty bad, even newer ones not cranking sometimes.

I'd take it in to be safe but at least to me that sounds pretty normal considering 0 degrees.

More energy is consumed to keep the vehicle warm, so it is likely that the engine is required to maintain temp and charge in colder climate. Just a guess.

Take it to the dealer and have your battery replaced. Mine was doing the same thing from day one. The sales manager told me unless the battery is operating at peak performance, the stop start system won’t work all the time. They replaced it within the first week. Since then it’s been working 100%.

This. Even in cold weather the battery should charge once the ICE gets up to normal operating temperatures. Something is wrong.

We were taught that a 12v battery reading anything at or below 12vdc at rest needs to be replaced asap.
If not replaced soon even the start function  will stop working!

Update: Called the dealer. They said those numbers were "normal"...🤔 But I could bring it in to have them look at the Auto Stop/Start. I decided instead to throw a NOCO 10 charger on for 90 minutes to see if it made a difference. Went for a 30-minute drive and start/stop worked immediately. It's 14 degrees outside. Resting voltage is now 12.11. I'll be taking it in after the holidays to have them look at the battery/charging system. It's the holidays and it still drives. I can wait.

If you can plug a voltmeter into one of the accessory outlets, you should read above 12.5V, resting, and above 13, closer to 14-14.5 when the engine is running. If not, either the battery is sucking up the charge current due to damage, or the charging circuit(alternator/regulator/ECM control) is in need of inspection and repair.
You are running on a low charge battery, which will induce higher amperage current to do the same amount of work, and may cause circuit/connector/insulator/etc damage. Though not real likely, over time, who knows.

Same issue…today no matter what I do the auto stop/start isn’t working?? It shows the white icon with slash through it… yesterday it worked flawlessly… I did as “Oreomuffin” did… changed every setting, turned off things, drove different ways… so we have some interesting issues within the first 225 miles…

1.) auto start stop issue
2) noise from a-pillar/dash/windshield on any small or low bounce of suspension
3.)my driver side mirror is out of focus/distorted. Need to have replaced (had a car prior have this issue).

Update: Took a 4-hour road trip a few days ago. Never turned off once. When I got up the next morning it turned off at the first stoplight at 0°. Perplexed at this point but I'm just going to wait and see.

For those who were thinking the outside air temp was to blame, I saw a new message today. The screen has mentioned "low temperature" but now I know it was referring to the engine temp.

Thanks for some updating and screen shot! I too still having the not working. I did get these message(s) engine on due to charging and most recently, engine on due to low temperature. I will try to capture pictures of this…. Seems this system will only activate if temp is certain levels and or there is adequate charge?? I get it but… seems like mine has been a “charge” issue always? So we shall continue to monitor…. It’s not a huge bother…unless it is indicative of a bad battery or charging system issue

Check battery after a good drive. It should be above 12. If not then it is not holding a full charge. 11 volts is only nominal while starting.
