Start/stop technology: where your car dies at every red light so companies get a climate participation trophy. EPA approved it, and everyone hates it, so we’re fixing it.

Dumb.

100% of vehicles need to be hybrid.
Now.

Demand a hybrid mandate.
Do it.
Do it now.

Make America AutoStop Again. And Again. And Again. And Again.

I dont completely understand the "now were fixing it" aspect. I am not up to par on all the rules and regulations... but to my understanding the auto start/stop is not mandated to be on vehicles. and if that is in fact true... how are you going to force private companies to not use them...and why?

Looking forward to my hybrid. And hoping things don't get too heated here. It's the environment - we're all breathing the same air.

Non political (hopefully) take: Now's the time to get the EPA to fix the gas can standards. The "always leaks when you pour" plunger contraptions are the epitome of bad design all around.

It was the dumbest addition on newer vehicles in the 2010s.
but its not required...unlike lets say the rear camera. thats where I dont understand the issue. There are brand new vehicles being made without the auto start stop. no issues/rules saying it needs it...etc. some manufactures made the decision to use them (I assume) because of the clients (aka customers). if they figure nobody uses it, then they no longer use it.

Prime example.... look at the Ford Parking Assist thing...where it would help you parallel park. What current Ford vehicles still have that feature? Should be none....they stopped it.

Lol "everyone hates" - just another unqualified hire speaking out of their knowledge base.
people either don't notice, or they hate it.

there is no one that loves it. OOOH let's see how much I can shorten the life on my turbo's center bearing and hesitate from a 4 way stop, or when parking. all this in exchange for... NO gas savings unless you're in gridlock! 😆
