I bet they could. BUT that would take effort by the manufacturers. So I doubt it. Aftermarket does sell a plug in device on obd port for about 100 bucks. On my old car a Ecosport I just got used to hitting the button. BUT on some cars you have to dive into a menu to turn it off. If I had that I would buy the device.
