Hi, after installing the fasteners, the hood gasket just hangs. I was thinking of using double sided tape to hold it in place. Did anyone do anything different?
Hey AVS, are you listening?
I really like the BugFlector with its full coverage and no tape on the paint installation a lot more than the other designs, but the instructions are terrible. The useless referenced video isn't even remotely useful and not even for a Ford truck. You have to remove the rubber air seal at the front of the hood, but that is not mentioned. Hopefully you carefully removed the seal from the T-pieces without just rippling it off. Only 4 of the T-pieces need to be replaced with the push-pins that came with the BugFlector. Just re-attach the seal with the T-pieces that you removed the seal from to put the BugFlector on.
Fortunately . I had plastic grommets that were a tad longer to reattach my rubber seal . avs didn't supply enough plastic grommets for my bugflector ( customer assistance was of no help ) . waited about ten days for replacement in mail and called again to get hung up on . finally ended up ordering from Amazon . problem solved . already modified two center holes with dremel tool to make bugflector fit properly . Personally wouldn't order anything else made by avs . ordered for extra fender protection and no tape . satisfied with it now .
I had no problem with mine and certainly didn’t have to enlarge any holes. I did read that many had fit challenges with earlier ones.I purchased mine in June’24
I got mine a couple months ago and it fit great. I was nervous buying it because there were some bad reviews about tweeked out of shape ones. Mine was good.
