Hey everyone.

I've been infatuated with the Maverick after checking one out in person. The wife and I really like it and it meets a lot of our needs and wants at this time. My preferred build would be hybrid Lariat w/Lux, but as everyone's aware you can't order a hybrid right now.

This would have become our daily vehicle. We're currently driving a '21 4Runner but that's supposed to be our adventure-mobile as I make some updates.

At the time I was learning more about the Maverick and starting to really like it, it was just three of us; me, wife, 6 y/o. A few days ago we got some unexpected but good news of another baby on the way. Anyone who's had kids knows rear facing car seats take up more room than a forward facing or booster. While we thought the Maverick would be perfect for three of us, I'm starting to second guess whether it would work as a daily/family car now.

If anyone has feedback on their experiences using the Maverick I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

Have a 7yo and it works just fine for the 3 of us.. We have taken a long weekend to Nashville, about 5hour trip, and it was great. I have a hard quad fold tonneau and some DIY dividers in the bed and works well as a large trunk. I had a Focus ST before the Mav, and the interior space is a little better. You will have a tight fit with the infant car seat though. Will probably have to put behind the passenger. Our wagon is a much better option for longer trips, but the Mav will be ok. The lack of pockets on the seat backs is an inconvenience.

I do. My wife, 6 y/o son, and me. Sometimes we include the inlaws.

I transport my 3 yr old and 7 month old to and from their grandmother everyday. TBH, my 02 Escape that was replaced by the Maverick is a better family vehicle. However, the Maverick is jusstt enough space + gets better gas mileage. The 7 mo. old sits behind me, the driver, with the forward facing seat behind the front passenger. I'm 6'1, 6'2 on the days I wear my shit kicker steel toes, and things do get tight for the rear-facing seat. When taking my littlest one out, I simply move my seat forward an " or 2 and the problem is solved. For a family vehicle, I'd invest in a bed cover so that strollers and etc can be transported while still being protected. Fun fact, on family trips the tail gate can be used as a changing table. Keep the spare diapers closest to the tailgate. Last pic is our bed loaded up with boxes, diapers, etc family junk after a Christmas trip from TX to Oklahoma. Congrats on the little one!

Some people have said that the rear facing seats are a tight fit. I don't see it as an issue because it will go behind the passenger seat. As a family vehicle it depends on what else you need and what else you have. If you need a pickup there is no better value with a crew cab. We always had either a minivan or an SUV with a 3rd row of seats so we had someplace to put luggage for trips. Having some storage space that's watertight and locked up was a priority when we had little kids.

Suggest ordering neosupreme seat covers for your truck. Comes with seat back pockets and also protects your original seats' fabric for $220.00. Coverking.com

We have a 9yr old and a 6yr old. The Maverick will be our family adventure vehicle. We do a ton of camping, backpacking, hiking, snow shoeing, cycling, etc. and while our VW jetta has done the trick fine, the Maverick should be even better.

I'm going to use ours as a family vehicle. The interior is similar to a standard SUV. Maybe when kids are Teens all need something bigger but by then I'll have a different vehicle.

I have 4 kids: 8, 10, 14, 17 years old.
works fine for our fam.
However, bigger adults have trouble fitting in front passenger seat without knees touching dash. For example my boss who is 6’2” 260#
