Any Reliable LED for 3rd Brake Light?

Does anyone know of a reliable brand for a 3rd brake light LED? I had 2 Lasfit LED's installed and both lasted under a year. I've seen others mention Diode Dynamics but they only had cargo lights listed and nothing for the 3rd brake light for the Maverick. Looking for something that lasts more than a year. Ready to put the OEM bulb back in lol.

I just saw your post and will post a Pic of my choice once I dig it out from under the truck rear bench...

Be aware it is a strobing LED light, which flashes several times every time you apply the brake, and then stays on solid.

Works great, well over a year and came in a 2 pack...so I still have a spare! (No friend to share it with, yet ;-)

Here is the 3rd brake light i paired with FORM tail lights. Was looking for some kind of C-shaped design. (Had door open is why the white/reverse section was illuminated)

Very nice. Did you have to splice wires or was it a harness connection?

I am back, but couldn't find my spare 3rd led light in my truck...maybe I had a friend but forgot!

Anyways, here it's the bulb I got from Amazon. I replaced the lights on either side at the same time as the halogen bulbs can melt the plastic around them .

I try to use Sylvania Zevo LEDs for all my external LED lighting/signaling due to their reliability. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find a Zevo 921 (T15) LED in red for the third brake light. So, I bought a pack of 4 Lasfit 921 LEDs in red so that I have 3 backups. So far I have 18 months of use on the original Lasfit with no issues. I check operation against my white garage door every day as I'm backing out, so I'm not worried about them being out for long without knowledge.

Harness connector, plug n play. Its just a narrow area to work in but can be done from outside without dropping interior headliner. (Used neednose plyers alot)

IF, IF, your goal is to make your vehicle more noticeable, upon braking, by using LED bulbs for that 3rd brake light, you might want to do what I did:

Go to the Kahtec.com website and pick among the many variations of flashing brake and pulsing 3 brake lights. You have the option of using either LED or OEM incandescent bulbs. I have the Lasfit bulbs in my ‘22 Maverick and they so far (fingers crossed) haven’t burned out (yet). Even the OEM bulbs with the Kahtec system are a LOT better than the stock system.

Some of y’all may say this is too distracting to a tailgating vehicle, but that’s exactly my point. The 3rd brake light I chose flashes 6 x’s within 2 seconds before turning solid red. Other variations are more noticeable and involve the existing brake lights.

I realize tailgating drivers on their phones are not going to see ANYTHING in front of them. However, doing something proactive is better than doing nothing. As you know, these Mavericks are like China dolls when someone has a minor fender bender. End result: A totaled unibody Maverick!

I replaced mine with a morimoto x3b, found a deal on ebay and really liked how it looked. I think it comes as plug and play but I cut the wires and soldered on the morimoto connector since I didn't feel like fumbling around inside the headliner.

I'm a big fan of Diode Dynamics, but it's hard to beat OEM. An LED third brake light from an F150 is a direct fit. I believe there may be a couple variations of plugs, but the colors are the same as our trucks if you want to cut and crimp/solder. I bought one on eBay for about $100 IIRC, just be sure it comes with a wire harness and you're in business.
