Are you sure about that? I think you need to do more research. What if I told you that 2024 sales of EVs are out pacing 2023 sales. What if I told you 2023 sales of EVs were the best ever.

Would any of you believe me? Or would you just tell me it's another government-led failure........
The BEV numbers I'm seeing look like fire sale bumps as companies try desperately to dump existing stock. The companies are either going bust or cutting back massively on their EV bets, ford included. If you insist on lumping in hybrids it probably looks better but they aren't really EV's now are they?

Once you factor in the loss of government subsidies things will look a lot worse. The market has always been an environmentalist fantasy. Even the greens in germany were finally told to shut up because they ran out of other people's money to throw at the problem.

Nobody's buying them, nobody wants them. Just another government-led failure.
Is this Ted kaczynski? Yes another government-led failure like winning world WW2 or electrifying the countryside so hillbillies have lights... Or the interstate highway system, or clean drinking water, or cleaning up the air and making it so Rivers don't catch on fire and burn for days.... Easy to criticize things when you're not the one actually doing it or being responsible. For sports cars, I prefer a gas engine with a manual transmission, you can keep the turbo, also Give me a nice revving NA engine anytime but it's amazing how tribal and close-minded people get about everything..

I like a good argument but I'm not a fanatic either way. But as far as I can tell you and a few other people think Tesla is the only EV company out there. Overall EV sales are up this year way more than ice sales. They're not up as high as they were predicted though. So it's been a while since I've been in math class but if you predict a 30% increase and you end up with only a 15% increase you call that a 50% decrease? It's still an increase in sales. Tesla sales are not doing well. Take a look at Hyundai and Kia companies that are actually making, and I've never owned one of the brands so I'm not a fanboy, EVs that people want with good specs. Their sales are way up this year with EVS

Why should I or anyone compromise on what they want or why they want it? No, I don't want to spend half an hour charging when I could be driving instead. Most of the gas stations don't have chargers because they aren't wasting money on stuff nobody will use. And the restaurant where I want to eat doesn't have chargers either. It's up in the mountains where the morons ruined a perfectly beautiful natural view with a bunch of ugly windmills, half of which are broken at any given time.

They were never going to be economically feasible so taxpayers got stuck with the bill. When they all finally break down for good at least the local bird populations will bounce back. Taxpayers will get stuck with the bill for removing the windmill wrecks, which is hard and expensive due to all the non recyclable composites in the blade. They should put a tax on EV's for that.

As we have seen in cold weather the ranges will be shorter as well. Why should I have to compromise? I'd love to have an EV for grocery getting and the like, but not at the same prices as a full fledged automobile. They just cann't compete. And I NEED a vehicle that can go for hours, fuel up in a minute and go for hours more. Not every day but when I need it I need it.

Oh and sorry if using words with more than two syllables bothers you, in the future I will try to keep it simple so everyone can understand.

Oh and why would I buy a helicopter when I can get a flying car? Got $300k you can spot me bro?

You lost me. I stopped reading with the windmill thing. Do you paint your face with orange makeup and dye your hair blonde and whip it around on top of your head to cover your bald spot?..... First of all, there are more new chargers going in around the country than gas stations. Second of all, if you actually took the time to understand something, you would probably understand that the reason there's going to be less EV chargers. Even if 100% of cars were electric, then there are gas stations is because nobody fuels up their car at home and the vast, vast majority of EV owners charge their car at the same place they charge their phone- their house. So during my normal suburban commuting back and forth to work, not all of us are out hunting grizzly bears with Buck knives driving 7,000 mi a week out into the sticks..... , I would plug in at home probably once a week and rarely visit a public charger other than on a road trip. I know You don't like anything new. Everything was better back when you were better. I got it. Do the windmills obstructive you at your golf courses you own?.... You do know oil is not renewable. It's going to run out eventually right? So people with brains would logically want to come up with new ways to generate energy like electricity. Whether that is nuclear, wind, solar, coal is going to run out and so is oil. Do you want the light to just shut off for your grandchildren?
I never said you should get one. You people read what you want to read. Not what the person wrote. I'm not a fanatic who thinks they're perfect for everything. Again if you drive like 700,000 mi a year and you like to go at 18 hours a clip without stopping then don't get one.

The birds that's funny, people worrying about the birds. Most of the people I see using those excuses are doing more to hurt the birds than windmills. Guys flying around in private jets why are they not economically feasible? Is this more of that? Can't do attitude? Boy, back in the '60s you would have said going to the Moon isn't feasible...We'll never get there. It's just another government waste of taxpayer money. When people talk about taxpayer money. I usually tune them out because 99% of the time they're okay with taxpayer money being spent if it's on something they agree with...... They just bring that up when they want to deride something they don't. Are wind turbines perfect? No. And by the way they're called turbines not windmills. I only know one idiot who calls them windmills...... Windmills are those things they have in Holland and the Netherlands. Just because something is a certain way now. Doesn't mean it will always be that way. I remember when flat screen TVs came out and you were paying like $5,000 for a 50-in plasma, well some people. Now you can get an 85-in 4K TV for a fifth of that.
Have you calculated how much money us taxpayers spend on 13 aircraft carrier groups with some of them dedicated to ensuring the flow of oil through dangerous regions? Did the oil companies pay for that or is it all of us taxpayers?

People are saying inflation isn't bad either. But when your bank account says otherwise who do you believe?
Inflation is down to 3.4% , id explain economics to you but I have a feeling you see everything through a political lens. Inflation was low in 2020 when we had 11% unemployment and low growth. Now we have 60 yr low unemployment levels and more GDP growth than any other modern western economy. Inflation is still higher than we'd like but less than half of what it was 2 years ago. Hell check out inflation levels back in 1984 when it was " morning in America"

But yes, those who didn't flunk out of third grade math know that the growth rate slowing isn't the same as sales tanking. Actually it means sales are up just not up as much year on year as previously.

Hahaha! Tesla is the biggest but as I posted there's now one less. Do I really need to post the links where basically every company is massively scaling back their EV plans including ford?

You true believers will stand there and say red is black, down is up and 1+1= unicorns with a straight face but when confronted with obvious evidence to the contrary just go into spin mode.

You will never accept reality. Peace out, enjoy unicorn land I'm done here.

Again why don't you try reading what I wrote instead of what is bouncing around in that skull of yours. True believer? I already told you I don't think they're better at everything and they're certainly not suitable for everybody's use case. But you weirdos who live out in the middle of Nebraska and drive 800, mi to get a case of beer think that's everybody. The op said that they are a niche product that don't work for most people and then in a few posts later he said yes They work fine for most people..... Tesla sales or lagging because they only make a few models and they all look the same and they're kind of on the boring side. Look at other manufacturers. Who knows what the future will bring? You told somebody back in 1800 we be driving around in what we are today. They would have said you were crazy like Arthur c. Clark said the future is not only stranger than we imagined it's stranger than we can imagine. So assuming there are humans 300 years from now and they're still driving, I don't know what they will be riding around in but I know it won't be something like an EcoBoost with a turbo on it.

2023 EV sales were 10%. Up from 7% in 2022 and 5% for 2021. So yes demand for EV's are increasing in the US. Not in all demographics though. Cities where gas is higher and commutes are shorter are LOADED with EV's. This trend will not slow down for many years. Wide spread adoption is just a couple low cost, long range options away.

Of course Tesla sales are dropping. Tesla has practically every car maker selling EV's now against them. Ford EV sales are up 86% over the 1st quarter last year. They dipped into Tesla's sales with one model basically. Mach E outsells Tesla X.

Another reason . . . . .
That's why I don't own a car at all because a thief might steal it. I don't know a house either because somebody might break into it. So what I do is I sleep under a bridge. I don't own the bridge so I don't have to worry about it
