I save some dense foam packing that my tonneau cover was protected with to use as a cushion in the window opening. It is U shaped so it fits over the opening and protects the frame and seals. Also have a piece I use as a spacer on the dash to protect the touch screen. I have hauled 10' pvc pipes, 8' trim boards the same way.

I’ve used a short section of foam pipe insulation. It’s already split down the side and is easy to put on/take off the rear window (Just couldn’t find it on this trip to the store)

Yeah I have a split pool noodle also that works. I also realized if I opened the cover to the 2/3 position it creates a support for the boards.

I like the freedom of view of a contiguous rear glass, but I also like the utility of having the window... which I've used to haul 12' PVC trim. I just closed the window on it to cinch it in.

I actually made a set of supports to sit on my BakFlip for those kind of loads.

Since I don't have t-slot rails I am thinking about a support that would slide into the slots for the bed divider. Then I can access tie down points.

10ft lengths of PVC pipe. Both drain & electrical conduit. Perfect with the rear window open!

I put an 8' ground rod through that window. Used a roll of TP to prevent damage to the window. Why do I have a roll of TP lying around?
Same reason I do: emergency traffic shitz...

I have an entire cabinet of saved foam packing trim for just the same applications. Wife thinks I'm a hoarder, until I'm able to haul one of her items, then I'm a hero.

yeah, PVC pipe for me too.

of course the sunroof in vent mode with the back window halfway open created the dynamic duo for perfect airflow...hard part is to remember to close them

You would think some enterprising 3d printer guy might come up w this as a product- if affordable I would like one (that window 'frame' is way too delicate!)
