Another one bites the dust... my Maverick burned down in 30 car pileup

I loved my 23 Ecoboost. Best vehicle I have ever owned. I felt like sharing some pictures of the unfortunate end of my truck.

I hit a severe whiteout, couldn’t see much of anything until I was in a 30 car pile up. I took a few big hits, proud to say the airbags did their job well. I walked away with only a sprained finger and some bruising from the seatbelt and airbag.

The most unfortunate part of the crash the fire that followed. As I collected my thoughts and crawled out the passenger side door I noticed fire under the hood of my ecoboost. Myself and a few truck drivers tried to extinguish the flames with fire extinguishers and failed. It appeared to be an electrical short fire that we couldn’t extinguish.

it was sad, but I have dealt with insurance and my replacement maverick should be here within a few days. Too bad Cactus Grey is no longer an option.

Wow, you came out of that pretty well. Those situations are pretty scary, because it's bad enough you hit someone/something but you had a truck behind you.

My Insurance, ‘Erie’ For $60 extra a year if I total mine for any reason In the first Five years I get a new never titled Mav of equal trim.
If I chose a Tremor Lariat I’d have to pay for the Tremor package because mines a lowly Lariat. :XD

I was trying to see/guess which hwy you were on...I have hit streamers like that just south of Barrie on the hwy 400 racetrack and the terrible accidents in the area...always big pile-ups there....also could be the 401...just saw the Oro-Medonte label so Barrie area indeed.

Thank the lord I was paying the new vehicle replacement premium. It was well worth it

Good guess, it was highway 11 a few km north of the 400/11 split. Southbound lanes on January 23

It was an XLT. New one will be XLT as well.. Only addition I made on this purchase was the copilot.

Everything melted! Check out my coffee cup…… this was something I found great. I sent photos of the coffee cup to Yeti to make a warranty claim. Yeti is amazing, best customer service. Harris, the customer service rep from Yeti I dealt with was amazing. Who knew they would actually replace it?!
