LSchicago, the thing that may hold us back is the trans. At some point we are going to find it's weak spot! We are pushing it WAY harder than it was meant to be pushed. The 10R80 Is an absolute beast of a trans! My 18 f150 ran 11s in a crew cab, trans just laughed at me....

Rebuild with better/more clutches when it fails. I've reached the point powerwise on the Mustang where it won't tolerate the power for long. It's over 1000crank/900RW now. Someone needs to swap in a Focus RS 2.3 with 6 speed into a Mav.

Any idea on what or if there is a speed limiter on the Maverick? I thought I had read it was under 110 MPH.

“It had Over 140 mpg” did you mean 140 mph?
Yeah that would be MPH. However I did get 20mpg on a trip between Dayton OH and and Columbus on National Road RT 40. Just loafing along and staying out of the secondaries. Usually it was around 13-15mpg with my rip roaring style of driving.

I would 100% keep the 2.0. It is a closed deck design, and superior to the 2.3, except for displacement. However, that trans!!!!! I want that soooo bad! But I can't afford it. I'm already running 12's for well under $1k in parts and tune, and I haven't even put the Corsair turbo on yet....

The RS block is superior to the standard 2.3 block. I'm not sure if you can get over 800 WHP out of a 2.0 like you can the 2.3.

I don't think there would be a difference in power if it's built to make it. It's no different than a 2.0 4g63 vs a 2.3. Both of those have made well over 1000whp. I'm not looking to go anywhere even near 500whp, so at the end of the day it won't matter to me unless I build one for speed, and that would be in 2030 at the earliest, lol.

I don't think ForScan can. My tunes do not have a speed limiter.

I had a 72 Duster with the 340. Still miss the sound of the 4 barrel carb opening up! Hard to believe that a 4 cyl Mav Truck could run with it but yeah these times are awesome!! All I really care about now is how fast mine gets up to 60!
I love when I open up all 8 barrels on my 67 Shelby GT500!
8 miles to the gallon when romping on it :-(

Can Forescan change that?
Stupid limiter is holding me back. I tried My Key and Forscan and didn’t make a difference. My tuner says he turned it off but at 106 it cuts power usually around 1200 ft. So I should be trapping 110ish and closer to mid 12s. Fortunately the track day today was postponed til next week due to rain so I have a week to get it figured out.

Yes it is! That definitely helps to a degree. Although, full weight and full exhaust, I did 13.19 3 different times in a row, ranging from +100 to -2700DA, lol.

Here is my last pass I did. It was -900 I think....
