I too have been getting that annoying "For your safety..." pop-up whenever ANYONE in the car touches the screen when the car is moving. I would understand it for the driver to not use the screen when driving, but for the passengers? Seems like overkill. I mean, what do we do on a long road trip? Stop the car, park it, and then change music albums/artists?

I took it to the dealership and after 9 days they said there's nothing they can do about it. They also said if I disabled FordPass then I would no longer get that message. So the technician basically said my options were to have a fully functional radio, or I could have the FordPass app that starts up my car with the AC on (Houston heat is brutal). So I disabled the FordPass and yet I STILL get the pop-up that prevents everyone in the car form using the screen.

Anybody having the same issue, or should I take it back to Ford and complain again? Or did I just get a crummy technician with his "sucks to be you" attitude?
I have a similar issue. While in drive, I can't scroll through my USB stick music. If I try, I get the 'for your safety...etc....' pop-up. Everything else seems to function fine, I just have to stop the car in order to scroll through my usb playlists.

More big government trying to protect us from ourselves because we are stupid. This warning is probably to protect ford from law suits for the actions of stupid people. It’s like putting makeup on while driving or reading a book.

The Ford technician said to disable the truck's FordPass and the pop-up should then go away. I tried that and no luck. Any luck on your end, SlingerRing?

Before you guys had screens in your cars, did you stare at your radio dial for no reason?
I usually watch the road.

This. It's not like I'm trying to "stare at my radio dial" but I would like to be able to pick out a particular song from my USB stick.... and yeah, when I have passengers on a road trip they're gonna be MIFFED about that particular 'safety feature'.

Also, when my phone is connected and I get a text message, it will pop up and allow me to hear the text message through the speakers - but if I don't catch it in time, and go through the phone menu and touch the speaker icon next to the unread text message? it says "that's been disable for your safety" like, listening to the text message now would hurt my safety, but not when it originally popped up? smh...

Hi, MasonicMoth. Miffed indeed. There's an online thread for the Ford Ranger about using the Forscan tool (https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/disable-movement-lockout.4365/), but I haven't tried it yet.

I contacted Ford through this forum and they basically said to contact a technician at the dealership, but that dealership isn't responding to any of my messages.

Let me know if you come across anything.

I saw that, and something on the F150 forum, and also I think the Bronco forum? It's been a Google-palooza ... anyway, FORScan - The XL model doesn't have an APIM module. I guess it's because there's no SYNC feature.

I did see something that said, on the radio controls, press and hold the Power and >> buttons until the screen flashes or resets? But I think that's, as above, for the SYNC/APIM module folks. I did it, and the touchscreen appeared to reboot, but nothing was changed.

Also, I looked at the "software licenses" tab on the touchscreen, and it gave the website for Ford Corporate "open source software" - open source software is generally meant for users to tinker with -perhaps someone knowledgeable with coding can help?

I liked a report I read of a cop pulling a lady over for multiple left hand turn signals and never turning. Her reply "I was not giving left turn signals, I was drying my nail polish! 😱
