Recently took mine in (reluctantly) for the turn signal recall (BCM reprogram) and decided to tell them about my wiper failure... bouts of no movement, or sometimes a twitch but no wipe... a whirring motor noise from the cowl tells me they're getting power. They said "we can't replicate it...
So... I wanted to do away with rake. I had 2 options: buy a front leveling kit (roughly $80), buy lowering springs ($300+ depending)
All the FWD ecoboost springs I found were the Eibach and HR Supersport, both offering about 2" front and 3" rear drop. And along came HR Sport springs offering...
Sorry... but can I hijack this thread to ask - can I replace the rear springs on a FWD with the rear springs from the AWD? Beside the spring rates, what's the difference?
For my Silvers coilovers, there was clunking because of the adjustable end links... they kept coming loose even with red threadlock. I got solid ones that were the right length and the knocks went away.
I've only gotten 23C41 in the mail - and have not taken it it due to 1. my turn signals are working, 2. all the fix will do is make them blink faster to let me know one of the bulbs is out and 3. I've used forscan to customize my truck and i don't want them to wipe my work, since I don't exactly...
I used my Ford reward points for the factory rubber fitted ones; they cover a few inches up the carpet on all sides and have been pretty great all-around, thus far :)
They're back at it again... but after this, I turned off the truck and walked into the post office, and when I got back to the truck the wipers work fine. Lol
Some notes after a year and 37k miles: The Silvers superlows are no longer adjustable (thanks NY winter). My passenger's tail light is jiggly because it's only held in by the 2 screws now (the plastic snap-in parts broke). My windshield wipers work when they feel like it (sometimes the motors...
I'm glad I use RainX cause my wipers have been acting up... they suddenly stopped working - they made the motor sound and twitched a little but didn't come up. Then I shut the truck off walked in the store and came out, and they worked a couple times then stopped at half wipe. I manually pushed...
Heck this thread is way more toxic than required. It's not hard to be decent and explain the install... $5 for nice pshh sounds is well worth it even if it is a rubber cap and zip tie. At Harbor Freight you're gonna pay triple that for an assortment of caps and a bag of zipties.... 🙄
Ah, upstate NY... where our roads are destroyed every winter and *sometimes* repaired in the summer (but not often)
It's hard to see, but regarding the front bumper, (and oddly there's what I presume to be the radiator support, haven't really taken a look) a metal support bar right at the...
Missed the no lecture/judge part of the thread...
Yes, my hypocrisy is evident while I'm lecturing and judging you about lecturing and judging others.
Bump, still in for figuring out how to change the limiter. Even my 3-cylinder Mini does 128...
Jazzed, ty - the connections were good, but disconnecting the battery was key. I tried resetting the DTC for that module and it wasn't going away. So I disconnected the negative terminal and reconnected it, and ran the scan again and yay zero codes and no warning lights on the dash :D
