Until recently I was using Waze from my phone by plugging it in to usb. I have a Samsung S24. Now it seems to default to Google maps instead of Waze and I can't figure out why as I don't recall changing anything. Waze is set as default on my phone but can't find anything in my 2024 Mav Hybrid Lux menu's. Any ideas?

Waze works fine on my phone but just won't appear on my Mav screen, however Google maps will.

That's odd. Waze always pops up as my default navigation when Android Auto boots up on the head unit via my Google Pixel phone.

It's definitely a setting in your phone that needs adjustment.

With phone plugged into car and Android Auto running, you should have a Waze icon to select on the vehicle display, which will replace the Google maps that is showing. When you select this from Android Auto, it should become your default. Are you saying the icon does not show up on Android Auto?

My wife had a Dr Apt last week, so Bodie and I dropped her off at the door and waited in the parking lot. Bodie is our dog and not much on conversation, so I got to messing with truck settings to get Waze on the screen. Messed with phone settings also. I don't know what I did but Waze now appears on the Maverick screen. I would post a how to, step by step procedure but I really don't know what I did. That consumed over an hour of our wait time, so I guess my suggestion is, be patient.

Until you want to walk instead of driving.

Issue solved, I found the waze icon on the Maverick apps screen, clicked in it and voila it is niw back to being my default map app when I use it on Android auto. I had forgotton to come back here and update, thanks SuperTux.

I agree with the comment on using google maps for walking, it is superior for that.. Other than that though, Waze seems better.

Bodie, that onery little poop, wants me to teach him how to drive so he can get to all the drive up windows where he gets treats. He rides on the console and back seat and pushes on my right shoulder so I will turn left. He figured out that 3 lefts make a right turn. He has me driving all over town getting treats. I put my foot down and told him, "No driving lessons until he learns how to operate the vacuum cleaner." He went off on me, " but I don't have a thumb" and now he is not talking to me. So no help with my memory, besides, he is enough Pit that he was asleep on the back seat while I was configuring Waze. 🥴🥴

I have to wonder of Google is sabotaging Waze. I used Waze for a while with android auto, and it just kept glitching. It would say "in 200 feet" then stop talking. This happened a lot. And it would give erratic directions, like when I leave work, I get a series of "turn right, turn right, turn left" while gmaps just works.
