Adding subwoofer to lariat advice. B&O

It’s very nice but then I lose all that space, I need it for workout belts, jackets, and Costco freezer bags. lol

I saw a 25 Maverick yesterday and pulled the rear seat down, and saw this stuff (took off Google) the dsp is for all the system so I need to leave it, but would plop the sub and use its wires for hideaway

but is there enough room to put a hideaway back there w the stock amp? Maybe I can relocate it, pull off the mount and use Velcro stick it somewhere on wall. Make room for a hideaway

and there’s other stuff on the right of it. I’m not seeing any of this in the pics of people w hideaway subs, all they have is a board w sub installed.

Going to go on a limb and say they aren’t hybrids and nor do they have the lariat bo system in all the pics I’ve found


potentially, I could put under passenger front seat, pull the vent thing off I read people do but I’d rather leave that incase I get guest but if I had to I would if can’t make room on the wall

That's the jack, lug nut wrench, etc. You're gonna wanna keep that.

Since I have lariat, I will have that extra harness and amp. Ha yeah, I will figure it out. More than likely put under passenger seat however, not like i will have people back there often.

I think most people subs from what I see are more base models with no speakers or upgrades. Makes easier for them space wise or those w lariats don’t feel the need as much to upgrade.

I was actually really shocked by the 24 lariat system sounding as nice as it did, this would fill the void I think for me just fine

I look at it more as most with b&o stereo are satisfied and not knowing or wanting to what's required to upgrade the stereo and/or subwoofer, while some may do it the majority won't.

Comparable to home theater enthusiast who will install a full-fledge 7.2.4 home theater system, where others will just buy a soundbar and call it a day. Most people just don't have the knowledge, time or tools required.

yes and no.

integrated speakers in lcd / led tvs these days are so g-d poor quality that you pretty much need at least a soundbar for anything remotely decent vocals and volume, and forget about bass output for music and movies.

few people install true HT anymore, including me. I had a B&W 7.1 system 20 years ago, 604S2 towers (that's all I could afford/justify), center, 4 surrounds, 12" powered sub. only the center remains and it's mismatched to 2 paradigm bookshelves. any kind of quality bookshelf and center are still massively better than a soundbar, unless that soundbar is so huge it does have 6" drivers in it, LOL.

a few years ago my wife killed the rca input on the sub running into it with a vacuum cleaner and won't let me replace it because it, like the floorstanding speakers, are "ugly", "bulky" and "not necessary."

my truck is all I have left, besides headphones, I suppose.

you get the biggest bang from the buck replacing the Maverick B&O 6x9 sub. no question at all, whether it's a powered sub or separate amp and box, it'll be a very noticeable improvement.

next on the value/priority list is the front doors and dash tweets. quality components there are very noticeable upgrades, especially in the 40-150hz region as that's the weakest and one look at the B&O 6.5's magnet and surround tells you why.

Yeah and I wasn't being negative towards anyone I was just simply stating most people either simply don't care about upgrading or replacing the stock speakers regardless of the trim, while others don't have the know-how and/or tools and would rather pay somebody to do it which is all fine.

I've installed a few setups in a handful of cars and quite a few home theater setups in my home as well as many friends and families. As I previously stated most just don't have the time tools or know-how and just need a little help or guidance. I still get calls from my father-in-law time to time when he hits the wrong button and loses sound or picture in his home theater. Which usually requires a visit to fix the settings and make a correction.

I've always been one to enjoy the improvement on car stereo upgrades as well as the drastic improvement by adding a home theater setup. I normally wait to watch movies at home versus going to the theater.

Just an update, I bought an 51hs10 from bb @ 295 and I tossed 4 year warranty geek squad 35 bucks. From what I read they just refund you or give new one no questions asked if theres no physical damage

I hooked up to my current car, took 10 mins since already got all the wires set up

it sounded, really solid. It’s going to be perfectly acceptable for my Maverick so I am indeed going this route, already got it. Might buy one for my gf’s Nissan rogue too I was that impressed- I mainly bought it to test see if I liked it. Exceeded my expectations.

My concern is, that hvac pipe under the passenger front seat. I don’t care about leaving it as long as it fits But if it’s indeed in the way, can I unbolt/remove the vent?

unbolt the factory 6x9 and install the hs10 there. it likely won't fit under the front seat and the rear is better anyway and won't sound any different.

there's no question, people have done it and there is no disadvantage to placing it behind the seat.

conversely if you did get it to fit under the passenger seat - which I highly doubt, by the way - it would interfere with sliding the seat and would stick out the back enough to block the vent (as you're already concerned about) and passengers in that right rear seat will step on it and kick it.

Thank you for that. Will get that sucker mounted if it kills me. I gotta say it's a nice little piece of tech for the size/price/function. I chose 35 dollar warranty because I read a lot of them blow, and I guess its pretty painless with geek squad, literally refund or replace on spot for most part. as long as it doesn't look like it was bashed in with a hammer.


One question. It's Mono sub, technically they want you to use 2 speakers, a positive/negative from both. - because the sub lariat just has 2 wires, 1 positive one neg. do I do the following options

1. hook stock 2 wires into one white, one grey white
2. hook 1 each wires to solid white + solid grey
3. tie the 2 whites together, and connect to one wire from sub and tie 2 grays together and tie to other wire?

because in my mind, 3 is the way to go. that would be pisitive/negative for both sides. mimicking 2 speakers one pos one neg each side.- I say that because in this diagram, it look like the little adapter just turns both wires into 1 anyway.

b&o 6x9 sub is already summed mono by the factory amp. you can connect the line from it to either left or right input on your hs10 without concern or issue.
