Did you have dual zone climate before adding the APIM?
Yes, Lariat Lux. It just gave me the controls on both the knobs and the screen.

Dang! I didn't know that.

So many changes for 23, especially Canada.

It's just a different APIM. Pretty simple to change out.

I was pretty mad to see that they did not include it for 2022. I couldn't understand why NAV wasn't included in the LUX package, I mean this was before the supply chain issues.

Well yes and no, easy for Ford, not as easy for the end user. It's not hard, just time consuming and getting the right APIM is important too.

Any sync 3 NAV APIM should work.

I would say the hardest part is getting the programming right through forscan.

And as you know, for some people (me), a very difficult endeavour once the APIM is in hand ;)
Still appreciate all your help though man!

Welllllll technically, you don't want a 2020+ Escape's APIM, as the display is separate from the APIM...

Apparently there's more to it..... I tried two different apim's from a reputable seller, neither would work. He didn't know why, nor do I. The GPS would not function. Just FYI.

Technically that's not true, it takes a certain model as several people will attest to here on the forum. The first one I got from the vendor didn't work, the second one did. If I remember right you have to get a Sync V3.4 and the first APIM he sent me the round connector in the upper left hand corner was a metal type of female connector, the one I took off the Maverick was a blue plastic type connector and so was the second one he sent me which worked. I think I was one of the first people to do the APIM swap so it was all new to the vendors. When I sent a pic of the one I took off the Maverick I think it clicked which exact model he needed to send me. It came from a F-150 I believe. The programming is the easy part, most vendors will program it for you and the most important thing you need to change is the VIN number, has to match your VIN.

When I replace the APIM. in my C-Max a few years back, there were dozens to choose from at various junk yards. They usually show you the picture of the back so you can make sure you're getting the right one. This is great to know, thank you.

Thanks for the writeup, I just ordered a new APIM on Ebay. Any chance you know if the stock Lariat cluster can do turn by turn directions on it? Looks like that all digital Escape cluster can, but I prefer to keep my analog gauges. That was part of what I loved so much about this truck.
