For my Lariat Hybrid using adaptive cruise control, set at a certain speed, after slowing for a slower vehicle, once I or the other vehicle change lanes, the Lariat accellerates wildly beyond the set speed. Does anyone have this problem? How can I correct this?

Going beyond the set speed would seem to be a dangerous defect!

If possible I'd recommend having a passenger film this happening and take it in to the dealer.

Yea it definitely shouldn’t do that. Once the set cruising speed is hit it should stabilize there. If it’s going beyond that id be making some calls.

Try turning off speed sign detection on your 2026 and see if it continues.

I second the recording of this phenomenon. It'll give you some backing at the dealership.
Don't forget to post it here too.

I have a 2026 Maverick Tremor, and I think I’ve noticed this too. I don’t think it’s a problem. When you change lanes with adaptive cruise control on, it seems to speed up a few mph automatically. I just brake, take over, and then reset it. "it's not a self driving car/truck" You have to watch it. Do your own lane changes. Proceed with acc when done.

If it speeds up PAST the speed you set it for it’s a problem, and any system that is supposed to make life easier for you that requires constant resetting is also a problem imho.

I use the hell out of adaptive cruise control (I have a speeding problem) in my Lariat, and once I turned off speed sign recognition it's worked flawlessly for me....luckily.

In my experience, if you have Predictive Speed Assist set to on with ACC, when the system sees a speed sign after adjusting speed down below the set speed limit, when it has clearance to speed back up, it will adjust the speed to the tolerance set of the last sign it saw which can be adjusted per below. If you have the tolerance set to +4, the speed will adjust +4 miles over the sign speed. If so, you can adjust it back down with the set-. Otherwise check these settings and if you don't want it to adjust after this scenario, either turn Predictive Speed Assist off or set tolerance to 0. Hope this helps!

Only time I have had it exceed the set speed was when the terrain changed. Basically, it had shifted down to get up to speed just in time for the ground to start going down so it overshot. But it usually catches itself and slows back down.
