This is not it.
You probably need to do what I said above. Select position for air first. No selection it defaults to ac on.

I don't have manual with me. It has been discussed in several threads. It will initialize even if your fan is not on. Will turn AC on and circulate air on to dehumidify. If you have fan already on and the blow on me mode selected you may notice a more so than if it otherwise would select defrost or blow in foot mode. It will maintain humidity level below the dew point like most vehicles do.Even though the fan is the only thing on? Is that written somewhere?
All that is well and good. But you should be able to have it off full time.I don't have manual with me. It has been discussed in several threads. It will initialize even if your fan is not on. I suppose WWII mode should be available for those that desire it. Always fresh air vent may allow zero fan speed, I do not know. I can barely exist on fan speed 1 and much prefer speed 2 vent open is preferred but depending on atmospheric conditions closed vent is acceptable. If I am in the rear seating area of any vehicle and there is minimal or no air movement I will roll the window down though in tornadic conditions maybe only 1/16". It may be possible that vent always open position just lowers the possibility of dewpoint conditions and when just right perhaps vent will close and air will be circulated where you may not notice it to dehumidify. All that is well and good. Mine was stuck in the rut of always coming on the first few weeks... I even posted the same question and confusion here 8 months ago. Then found if you choose vent position first (I guess some are calling this "manual", but hey, I like to be in control) then make any other adjustments, it holds your preference long term.![]()
I have been experiencing the same issue.Yes. Yes Y'all.
To fix mine it was one of two things:
1) I cycled every single button thinking maybe one was stuck. Maybe it was, problem went away
or
2) you need to have at least one position button pressed first, either vents, floor, windshield, before pressing any other button. Maybe this solves it. I do this, problem went away.
