It would have to be competitive in pricing, and since it's a Chrysler/Fiat, we can rule that out :ROFLMAO:

Not a bad looking truck. In my eyes I kind of see it halfway or so between the look of the Mav and the look of the SC. I take the look of the Maverick, as to me, it has more of the truck look.

Ford will be getting some competition in the Marketplace for sure in the next few years. That will be a good thing. Competition is king in the free market capitalist system we all enjoy. :)

If those comparison pictures are equal in scale, then it is most likely headed our way. The usual trucks in other parts of the world are smaller. I still think the Maverick is still a little too big for my taste. Maybe Ford will lead the way again by making the Ranchero just a bit smaller.

Chevy will have something, RAM will have something... Hyundai already has something. Toyota? Competition is definitely good.

I'd personally go for an on frame version ECLB 4x4 Hybrid the same size as previous generation Rangers and not so European round looking like the new ones. Also, nothing like newer Tacoma's/Tundra's... my lawd... what were they thinking... :ROFLMAO:

When I look at the Ram Rampage, I see a Fiat.

Probably....but, it is still a Fiat and dependability would be suspect in my opinion
No argument there, but it's good to have competition to keep mfg's on their toes. Bring on all the competition in my opinion

I'm tired of the clickbait articles promising details they just don't have.

Until they announce they're selling it in the US - with price and configuration details - I see all these speculative articles as a waste of time. Wake me up when they announce an order date, and let the comparisons start when we actually know what we're talking about at least a little bit.

In related news, I wish I could subscribe to a sports news service that explicitly stripped out all "mock draft" and "proposed trade" articles. I want to know the results of the actual drafts and actual trades, but hundreds of clickbait articles about how some "expert" thinks it will go are just annoying.

"If", and a big "if" that is that the Ranchero could be the smaller 2 door extended cab truck alot of us have been wanting. Use the same architecture and possible use a Escape line to build it on. Looking at our Maverick there is room to trim size up front. So if you cut 4-6" out of the front end, made the Mavericks front door longer by about 10" for rear access, and extended the bed up a full 12" you would end up with a little bit shorter truck with a wheelbase similar to the Bronco Sport and a more usable cargo area. Target it at fleets, contractors, and youthful people and it should sell in the numbers they thought was going to satisfy the Maverick crowd, barring real stiff competition. Give it the same 3 cyl as the BS, with a top model or HD 4k 2.0s, and possibly a hybrid or full EV.

The only "Ranchero" rumors can all be traced back to Maverick leaks from before the name got announced and folks were speculating on the name. It's not a thing, and was never a thing.

While there are certainly folks who want a two door small truck, it likely wouldn't be enough to support building a completely separate unibody design. They're not even going to build a two door Ranger anymore, which is traditional body on frame where having a second cab design is more cost effective.

Still a wicked dream. I would even be fine with an Escape-ish front end as long as it had capable hindquarters.
