Hi All,
I've been on this forum since I preordered and received my 24' Ford Maverick XL Hybrid and I know there are plenty of threads addressing the Deep Sleep mode that drains the battery. I have my full story outlined below but scroll down if you just want to see the service message that was done to "fix" my deep sleep issue.
I have not had any real issues with this (thankfully) but my luck had run out last week when it started giving me deep sleep notifications at least once a day and even twice in the same day (before heading to work and coming back home). I knew it was time to take it to the dealer since my car is still under warranty.
I made an appointment and they "handled" the issue same day which was just replacing the battery (same model as factory) and reset some of the systems. I tried to explain to my service contact that an AGM battery would be a better solution since I've seen the threads here mention that has helped compared to the stock battery. He explained per Ford they cannot replace the battery with anything other than what comes stock from factory. I drove off the lot and felt it was working fine.
Then the following day I get another deep sleep message. I was busy that day so I did not go for a ride so the day after I tried to start and it was completely dead (first time its ever happened and I had countless deep sleep notifications). I contacted the same service contact and he told me to immediately bring it in and he would prioritize my car and try to get it done ASAP. He called me later in the day and said there was a "fix" Ford just released that should resolve the issue (which I thought was ironic timing) but nonetheless I wanted to try it out. This was released on 4/29/26.
Turns out it seems to have fixed my deep sleep problem (for now). This is the fix that Ford has been claiming for a long time to release to fix this issue that has been happening to all our Mavericks. Below is the exact wording of the fix and wanted to share here since I did not see it on this site. Not sure if the dealer would fix this at no cost but all of this was covered under warranty.
