I said it before and say it again..Mav is not a truck but rather a sedan with an open trunk..It's built on a Bronco Sport or Escape chassis FFS and both Sport/escape are laughable . If you get it to haul away heavy stuff, or to tow your motor home or to off road / overland this is not it.
I keep seeing the gas saving argument which becomes a moot point now that Trump is back in the office. ..in my area gas is 2.49 and dropping by the day. I also keep seeing members outrageous pricing quotes for real trucks in order to justify buying a MAV.
In the past 5 years I owned 1 x F150 Raptor gen2 econo-boost, 3 x RAM TRX and 1 X Ram Rebel (sold the 4 performance trucks to get the Rebel for free ). As someone that flipped several trucks lately I can assure you the 2nd hand/used market is in free fall. You can get a '21 TRX for 55k. You can get a '23 Rebel Hemi V8 for 45k or less. You can get a BRAND NEW '25 Rebel for 55k. You must be insane to pay same on a top trim Mav..Mav is a great deal for base XL for 30k from Granger with everything over being wasted money

Mav is perfect for retiree ( weekend warrior type), 1st time driver ( small footprint), or even for stay at home moms or athletes (easy to load bycicles, big sport gear like hokey or golf equipment etc).

Ram has some insane incentives now..before commiting for a top trim MAV ( lobo, Lariat, Tremor) msg Granger ( yes they sell Ram) and get a quote for a real truck. You'll be surprised how much more you can get for your $$$

Happy holidays, fellow MTC fans- I wanted to share my thoughts as an early Maverick enthusiast. I waited over a year for my 2022 Maverick XLT FX4, and I'm surprised by the current pricing. I originally bought my truck for $27,000, but now I see new models priced closer to $40,000. When I recently configured my exact model with the FX4 package, the total came to $35,300—about $8,000 more than I paid in 2022.

While inflation explains some of this increase, we're in a new era of Maverick ownership. With many four-wheel-drive options available for around $45K (F150/Ranger, etc.), I'm curious if others think Maverick's pricing has affected its position in the market. I have a 2025 Tremor on order with a locked-in price of $41 K, but at that number, it is an entirely different framework when I look at what else is available for that price. Now, you truly want to have a Maverick versus buying one because that is what you can afford.
Should there not be considerations given for upgraded screen size, four wheel drive now available with the hybrid? And how can this compare to a F150? I have ordered and am expecting delivery in a few weeks (it's been shipped) on a 25 Lariat Hybrid AWD 4k tow with BAP, roll-up tonneau, mud flaps and floor mats, no carpet for a little over $50k (I am in Canada). I currently drive a Kia Niro Hybrid and if I was to upgrade to a 25 Niro Hybrid in the same premium trip package that I currently have, and would compare to a Lariat trim, I was looking at $42k, again in canadian $$. Tell me where I can get a high end trim package truck, even though it is a small rig, with the same bells and whistles and a "hybrid" and the gas mileage savings associated with it, for $51k (41-42k USD)? I have no regrets, zero, nada!

i dont discriminate when is about my wallet. I have a mav incoming. Had a '24 on order , and 2 x 25. All XL. I'll buy one , perfect 1st car for my youngest teen driver. the '24 is still on the dealer lot with "dont sell" and another '25 is built not shipped and probably wont pick up. I had a '24 Bronco 2 door , manual that I just sold because I didnt really like. I also have F250 7.8L diesel long bed manual truck. Plus Mustang. I'm not a fanboy , just a rational buyer. You can get way more truck for your hard earned money. Yes, if you are a Ford fanatic and all you can afford is a Mav go for it

I have had a Matrix, a Camry and a RAV4. One recall in 14 years for 1 car. I still have the RAV. I will need it when the Ford dies.
You might have performed 1 recall in 14 years but there have been many recalls across those models. The Matrix had almost 2 dozen recalls. So, stop lying.

You probably want to look into Toyota's recent issues as they are not in a good place right now. They are not on the same level they used to be and what people still think they are. They most certainly do not justify the premium like they used to. Which is sad because they ran their last vehicle platforms for so long that they had plenty of time to spend developing the new ones that just came to market.

One day, in the future, Ford will be gone (or taken over by the likes of Stellantis), and Toyota will still be selling millions of cars.
You are really on a Ford forum shilling for Toyota? Impressive commitment to the ruse.

Define truck?
i'll give you an analogy to make you understand..not everyone that wears a skirt is a woman.. Same with the mav..a bed doesnt make it a truck. Oxford dictionary defines a truck as "a large, heavy motor vehicle used for transporting goods, materials, or troops." Mav is not heavy ( Escape/Bronco Sport chassis) nor is/was or ever be used for "troops" , cattle or even poultry. Again at 30k is good for what it does but if you pay 40k+ for a mav of course you act dumb and ask everyone to define " truck".

Just glad I got my Mav when I did . $34k as it sits ( tax , title , and additional accessories ) . It's utility meets my needs . Good mpg and very acceptable performance imo .

Ah yes when the Oxford dictionary doesn’t support our claim we just devolve into insults and calling people dumb.

You’re special.

We have a 14 Sienna van with a Braun wheelchair conversion. It's a higher level trim but still has plastic interior not much different from my Mav, and it's also had four recalls.... I knew what I was paying for when I bought the Maverick and I am pretty happy with it so far.

LOL @SLINGSHOT mind 🤯 when he reads about the issues with Tacomas literally splitting in half.

My 2010 was completely disassembled and rebuilt on a new frame.

But you know, Yota reliability (my ass)…..

I was also going to ask on the $40K norm, what do people objectively need on the Lariat and higher trims? A friend of mine was doing the usual complaining about 1/2 ton trucks that are over $50K, but you can still buy a bare bones F-150 with a long bed and a 325HP V6 that will haul loads all day with more than adequate tech and comfort for $30K.

A someone who had a 1970 FJ-40 as my first vehicle, and didn't even have working AC in a vehicle until I was almost 30 in 2010, I've just always found it hilarious that trucks and SUVs somehow became mobile throne rooms to placate babies who can't tolerate the slightest discomfort.
