I don't hate but I do miss the following:

1. ACC.
2. Park assist as part of co-pilot 360.
3. Auto dimming mirror.

Things I 'hate'

1) No gear shift to rest your hand on. Im coming from an F-150 so maybe thats just me
2) No way to skip radio channels from the steering wheel
3) No 360 cameras or back up warning 'beep' (at least on my '23 Lariat)

Those are so nitpicky that I feel funny saying I hate anything about the Mav.

Three things I like about my Maverick.

1. I didn’t have to choose an interior color.
2. Just came with a standard radio. Didn’t have to pay extra for a radio I didn’t. need.
3. Plain old key start. Just like the old days.

😉😉😉😉

1. No interior color options for each trim
2. No sync 4 or 3 for xlt or xl trims
3. No start button on xlt or xl trims.

I agree, it's not really that these things cost too much to add in on even entry level vehicles these days, it's just that something like keyless entry and ignition requires more microchips vs a model with keyed ignition. I'm willing to bet that Ford could easily substitute keyless ignition as standard on XLT and Lariat trims regardless of lux package or not but they can't because of shortages.
It seems to me that the push button start would be less expensive for Ford, as the system already starts without the key… using the Ford App???
My theory is Ford uses these small, but cool features to entice buyers to move up the trim/$$$ chain.

Correct. The hybrid XL was likely a loss leader at launch and since then they've upped prices/introduced additional packages to improve their margins pretty much across the board.

This is exactly why they do it. There are people who have had these convenience features on previous cars. They will convince themselves they are things they need (not just want) and pay hundreds or even thousands more for them.

American car companies have done all or nothing tiered upgrades for decades.

My most annoying complaint is how big of a blind spot there is created by the driver's side A pillar. May be my height or seating position, but it is something that I find somewhat troublesome.

There's nothing wrong with the newb, even if the thread is resurrected. It is still as valid as it had been a year ego. Besides....

The OP had been kind, he/she only listed three things that are hated. Really, only three???? I could list as many before even getting into mine... 😱

I honestly do not understand the appeal of a start button.

In my mind that's something I'll just have to deal with eventually when the automakers force me to. I'll be using an old school key as long as I can 😆

1. Every fucking Maverick ive owned (im on #3 at this point) has a rattle in the passenger door panel.

2. No ACC/lane centering option on lower trim packages

3. The radio screen is low contrast/quality.

Can't you still start with the key, even if it has push start button? After all, the FOB does have key, but I have never tried to start mine with it...

The physical key is to unlock the door if the battery dies.
