I've picked up my Maverick on February 1st, replaced my '98 F150 STX 2WD with full size bed. Boy, the new truck/SUV is small, but cute like most little things in life.

It also have lots of chachkies, my head were spinning just to understand all of the features, not to mention all of the buttons and displays everywhere. Driving wasn't and not an issue, slowly but surely getting a hang of all the buttons and features. Couple of complaines...

The owner manual book, or digital version is pretty much useless. The main issue is that it is made for pretty much all Maverick productlines that makes the manuals useless. Who's going to read through a 560+ pages book, that includes all productlines? Not me... The other issue is that on almost all of the features it's states "If your vehicle equiped...". Most of the screen images in the book are different from what my Maverick has. Really Ford, you coudn't have a product specific owner manual?

The other is the comfort in the driver seat. The seat in itself is comfortable, but the armrests are not so much. With my 6'4" height the seat is rather far back, but my right elbow barely rest on the armrest. The arm rest on the door doesn't fair much better either, it's a bit too high and cannot reach the windows control, never mind adjusting the mirrors.

The rear bench seat's back support just fell forward when applied the brake gently and couldn't lock back in. On February 3rd, it was back to the dealer to readjust the locking mechanism. It had been done rather quickly, didn't have to leave it there. They've probably done what I was planning to do, grab the dead-blow hammer and bend down the tongue of the locking mechanism.

The rotary dial shifter is still foreign for me, caught myself repeatedly reaching for the non-existent coulomb shifter, like in my old truck.

Over all, the little thing didn't start out right and had some doubts about it initially, but it is hard not to like this little thing. It drives well and feels warm and welcoming. I especially like the hand motion locking/unlocking on the door handle, that's pretty cool. Having a sunroof is also nice and can open the power back window since my granddaughter showed me where the switch is located. Btw... She loves the Maverick...

Question...

Is there a video, or other short instruction for adjusting the feature settings on both screens?

TIA...

PS: Sorry for the long rant....

The search feature makes this tolerable, but I understand the "thick book, good luck" mentality that has taken over.

One thing I forgot was that there is a "telescope adjustment" on the steering wheel. This might help, but I'm not sure. I'm not used to the telescoping adjustment.

First, congrats on your Maverick. It will take a few weeks to figure out everything you need to figure out, then it gets even better. I was fortunate in that the salesman sat in it with me and patiently showed me how to operate various items. I later found out that by pressing the menu button and going to settings, I could find the other items I needed. Play with it awhile and you will get more comfortable. After all, it is a Ford - FORD - Find Our Recondite Displays.

I feel personally attacked lol. But a lot of people on here including myself have had a year or more to read the digital manual prior to delivery.

Most manuals are generic. My VW includes everything whether it is the base model or top. My Wrangler did not have a printed manual (greenpeace) but it was loaded in the infotainment system.
Guessing there aren't many, if any, compacts that an fit someone 6'4".

Huh, at 6'3" I find the driver's seat insanely comfortable in my Maverick. Of course, I spent the last dozen years driving a tiny hatchback 😆

That explains...:ROFLMAO:

I've been driving the same full-size F150 for 25 years, where the armrests were positioned just right; in the Maverick it is not for me. The seat in itself is comfortable, maybe not "insanely", but I am still on the fence about the synthetic leather.

@TCPTX65... I did try adjusting the seat height, "telescope adjustment", etc., but they didn't do much, marginally better at best. I've already listed what I don't like; are they the tip of the iceberg? No, but there are other minor things that I don't like, such as limited capability to control the "always calling home" is one of them. That doesn't really count since you'd be hard to pressed to purchase a new vehicle that does not have this feature.

So, basically everyone hates the manual and going through the same growing pain, as I am. maybe I should set aside some time for going through all of the feature and their options. Question regarding to that...

How do you turn on the screens without the engine running? I think it's called accessory mode...

TIA...

lol....you can't just thumb through pages that don't apply?

No one does trim-specific manuals.
