Hopefully dropping the XL down to just a FWD hybrid keeps it somewhat affordable as well. Feels like $4+ gas may be a thing indefinitely, so it makes sense.

No 4K tow for FWD Mavericks is not new? But does the new 27 XL come with a 2k tow hitch as standard equipment or an option even?

Probably have to wait for the in depth XL video from this dealer to see, but I doubt the hitch will be standard. The $20K (+ destination) XL hybrid Maverick no one could buy was the eye popper when it launched, and I think keeping that model as cheap and simple as possible for fleet vehicles and cost conscious individuals should be a high priority.

that would be a silly move on fords part, the maverick is/will be a lot of peoples first foray into truck ownership (was for me) -- and to not have it come with a hitch as standard would be a braindead move -- but who knows, maybe some mba typed that into chatgpt and it spit out that it was a good cost cutting idea.

According to the order guide, no hitch is available for the XL FWD.

I didn't get a hitch with my 24' XLT. Sure it would be nice to have in case I need it, but if there was a saving not having it, that was preferred. I see gobs of white XL Mavericks being used as parts delivery vehicles, in pest control, and lighter duty contracting / construction where they are just using the bed, and don't need AWD either really because it just adds more moving parts that cost money and break eventually. Just makes sense to make the XL a hybrid only at the cheapest price in the current market. God forbid we end up in a situation where the price doesn't go up and dealers have some room to maneuver below MSRP if there is plenty of stock on lots.

Has anyone else built a 2027 vs a 2026? I just built a 2027 Tremor, and it came out $2,800 LESS than a 2026 build, even adding back in the SIBL and the bedside decals.

I drove it home for $40,300
After the Employee discount and a customer loyalty discount of $750, $250 for each vehicle purchased from my dealer.

Never planned on another Lariat after selling my 22. Still won’t. I want nothing to do with electric. Electronics are glitchy enough on new cars. Don’t want more of it.
