This video looks like it was produced by a marketing group. No technical facts, in fact only 5 seconds of a 4 cyl. eco picture. The new version is a redesign that does address alot of the issues from previous generations. Time will tell how improved it is. Stay tuned

Lube oil might . For Ecoboost, New WSS-M2C971-A1, different from WSS-M2C961-A1. The 971 is a new March 2025 oil specs, which has improvements like low speed preignition, heat, turbo lubrication, etc.
I just messaged Mobil 1 Tech site and asked IF the M2C961-A1 that's listed on the label of their
5W-30 Extended Performance oil meets or exceeds the new 2026 Ford oil spec.
I'll post their answer when I get it. Hmmm...???

I switched to Quaker State brand, now a Shell Oil own company. After several oil analysis, not happy of Motorcraft blend or full synthetic , low viscosity numbers. QS advised the M2C971-A1 supersedes the 961. Learning the 961 is 2020 stuff, whereas 971 is 2025 newer oil.

And if I recall, asked any 2026 model owners what their manuals saying. If remembered, they revealed the manual list the 971-A1 lube oil.

Yes, I read that in the Owner's Manual. I've also read that 961 meets or exceeds Ford's 971
recommendation, by Mobil 1's label. But, I wrote them just to double check.

I would not think 961 exceeds 971. Ok to use 961? Probably. Individual choice. But why fret if 971 a better choice.

The Ford WSS971-A1 specification meets or exceeds the new API SQ and ILSAC GF7-A standards for 2025 and 2026 model vehicles. Whereas the Ford WSS-M2C961-A1 meets or exceeds the previous API SP and ILSAC GF6-A

Most Mobil 1 oils, including the Extended Performance 5W-30, have been upgrades to meet or exceeds the new API SQ and ILSAC GF-7 specifications.

This is the exact comparison directly from Mobil 1 techs.

Why is everyone referring to the new 2.0 Ecoboost engine as a “2026”, when, in fact it is in every “2025” Ecoboost Maverick? Look under the hood and read the specs. Both year models boast the newly designed motor, that includes duel injection, direct AND port injection, which is a game a game changer that is being used by many other manufacturers largely because of the inherent intake valve “carbon buildup problem” that leads to excessive maintenance costs as the engine ages.when only direct injection is utilized On turbo-charged engines.

i could go on, but do your own research if you are considering this motor.

All the EB’s have used the same motor oil since day one. Just picked up 6qts of Motorcraft Full Synthetic from my dealer $9.95/qt.

If it is reddish - cool. I wish Motorcraft made their air filters reddish too for coolness factor:)

My truck a 2023 and has only DI feature. Shucks. Guess I invest in walnut shells to blast the intake valves when engine starts to wane.

I not use Motorcraft oils. Switched to other. It’s not Motorcraft, rather its ConocoPhillips 66 oil.
