Why worry about a vehicle that doesn't exist? Even if they do make a 4WD Hybrid, you'll be waiting forever to get one. And I'm sure it'll be over MSRP, no matter where you buy it.

Hi everyone,

I've been on the fence but finally ready to order a Maverick. Hoping for XLT AWD Hybrid but may settle for XLT FX4 eco boost AWD (need orange-free interior). I understand order banks and specs release August 1 and I have a few questions.

1. Is there an advantage to ordering August 1st vs later in the opening week?

2. I understand this is speculative, but what does the brain trust guess the wait/build time is for AWD Hybrid? I can be patient, just curious on everyone's thoughts.

3. Price increase. I'm having a hard time mathing my "line in the sand" price differential for AWD Hybrid vs AWD Ecoboost. I only drive about 5k per year but I love the idea of hybrid because I'm so cheap I often decline 1-2 hour day trips due to gas prices. (I drive a 13 mpg 1998 Dodge ram) So, please walk me through your thoughts on prices for XLT AWD Hybrid. How much more would you pay for AWD hybrid, and why? No right or wrong answer here I just want to hear other perspectives. Thanks!!
Yes and no on 1. If your ordering from a big maverick dealer let say Long McArthur as example then yes .
2. We have no idea but I don’t think adding AWD hybrid will make the wait longer than a hybrid already has . Is change for sure but not plug in per say
3. There is price increase of course the current price for base xl is like 24k so I except a base larait AWD hybrid to be 35k . Base nothing else except standard equipment .

Because I think/hope it will exist in 6 days

I can wait but want to pay MSRP.

If you're looked at best value, go with the XL. Lower price point than XLT and no orange (at least that was the case through MY24. Not sure about MY25). Caveat is that wait time will be longer for XL especially hybrid XL.

Getting xl is like finding diamond in rough . Fleet will take 80% of orders

Also can you please explain dealer ADM? I'm planning to custom order and avoid the markup over MSRP.
Some stealerships markup ordered vehicles, depending on demand. Or sell it out from under the person who ordered it, claiming it was a mistake - too bad, so sad. Search this forum for sad stories of buyers that had their ordered vehicle sold without their knowledge to someone willing to pay a premium price. There is absolutely no guarantee with some dealers that you'll pay MSRP on delivery day on a truck that may be in very high demand if & when it ever becomes reality. They buy the truck from Ford and can then sell it for any price they can get.

I think you have the cart way before the horse at this point. Your research right now should be concentrated on finding a truly honest/reputable dealership that won't screw you over, either through markups or mandatory add-ons and warranties.

As for interior colors, this is Ford's cheapest model truck. Interior color options are usually limited to whatever they decide it will be for that trim level & model year.

Good point. I had to go to several dealers to even find one that would place an XL order. A number of dealers I talked to were reserving their XL allocations for fleet.

Maybe so but it's how I roll. I already have my meals planned out for next week so I should probably have my vehicle order figured out too lol. It's the same day announcement and order banks opening combination that has me feeling pressure. Hopefully some info will leak.

Good point on finding a trustworthy dealership and going from there. I will spend some time researching the threads on that topic.

This is a very strange (but harmless) thread. The phrase "how many angels fit on the head of a pin" comes to mind.

1 dealer allocations are just as important as your national position in line
2 OMG the demand for hybrid AWD is likely to be off the charts. if and when they are likely to be limited availability.
3 while the hybrid is the MPG king in town it's advantage in rural and highway is noticeably less. ECOs get 30ish in those situations. Then you need to figure up front cost vs MPG savings. the less you drive the longer it takes to balance.
I drive mostly back rural roads each day on my 55 mile round trip commute. Usually average around 65 MPH and get 44MPG hand calculated. Just for data points for OP

I think a hybrid AWD, if they make one, would sell quite well.

I also think that a 2.3L ST AWD Maverick would sell well (and I'd be wanting one).

Right now the Hybrid costs $1500 more than an Ecoboost. You'll spend decades trying to recover $1500 on a 5K/year pace.

True, but some people just like using fewer resources.
