2025 Maverick Hybrid Models Can Be Flat Towed

I have my 24 Lariat Hybrid setup to flat tow using the Demco baseplate. But it would be cool to see the new 25 Lariat Hybrid in AWD plus 4K tow with that ability. Just wondering how long customers will be waiting on the base plate manufacturers to catch up to the 25 MY. The other concern is the price. I built out a 25 Lariat Hybrid in that new green color with the same options as my 24 with the addition of AWD and 4K tow and it priced out at over 40K. And that is before sales tax or destination charges. That is a lot of cash for a small pickup. I ended up getting 3K off MSRP on my 23-24 order but even that was a lot of cash.

Try pricing any other AWD Hybrid. The Maverick beats most of them. Not all, but most.

You need to clarify which trim level you are talking about. MY25 XL & XLT Hybrid are available in FWD, Lariat Hybrid is AWD only.

You can just say - Lariat is AWD only. That’s the real distinction.

Not that hybrid is only available as AWD

The only safe one. Blue Ox failures have been many, with Blue Ox not covering it (look through the posts here). Then Roadmaster mandates that you irreversably tear out the lower active shutter system...which make you vulnerable to warranty denial issues. That leaves Demco, which has neither of those issues. Edit: If you are talking about a 2025, no one knows yet, as the front end redesign will cause them all to redesign their baseplates. Maybe Blue Ox and Roadmaster will "do better" for 2025, in about 6-12 months.

well that sucks, not only is the AWD out for flat tow, but the whole lariat trim is out. Just frustrating. I know the flat tow as a percentage of use is low as comparted to the total sales of the truck. But obviously worth something or they wouldn't bother at all. Not to mention the reports, allegedly by ford representatives that it would be.

I'm hopping some type of misprint etc. I have a 25 Lariat on order and only reason for ordering a Maverick is for the 4 wheel down TOAD / RV towing ability. The 4K Tow Pkg is another factor I wanted. So, If this isn't resolved in the Lariat not being able to Tow 4 down Due to AWD, I'll be canceling order at some point. Only $ 500.00 deposit and it is refundable. So not out anything but time. Bummer !

Best case scenario, is that Ford just doesn't want to bless flat-towing it. There's a bunch of Subaru folks towing their manual CrossTreks that are NOT approved for flat-tow, yet many owners do it anyway.

My Alto Blue 2023 Lariat Hybrid with heated windshield, door entry pad and Demco baseplate just became even more valuable of a rarity.

Damned glad I didn't wait for the AWD. This development sux.

Good News on Flat Towing, Received email (12/02/24) from Ford truck communications manager Dawn McKenzie Confirming in fact both FWD & AWD 2025 HEV can be Towed flat 4 down (TOAD) on the Ground. Here is her email response:

Hi,
The Maverick Hybrid (AWD and FWD models) can be flat towed. The Owner’s Manual needs to be corrected/updated and the team has been alerted so they can make this fix.

I sent emails to various Ford personnel / Dept.s Requesting clarification on this matter As I have a 2025 Lariat on order. Hopefully the Owners manual will be updated quickly so we can see it online before in the glove box. Glad I don't have to go back to square 1 on a vehicle selection for my needs.
