security alarm system maverick lariat hybrid 2025

i bought maverick lariat hybrid 2025 three months ago. does this come with any kind of security alarm system? i tried banging on the truck once its locked to see if the horn will chirp of any kind. none. i have a dashcam installed but i'd like something audible to deter bad guys and gals... if not, can anyone recommend a good "diy"security alarm system for my truck? thank you.

Did you set it by double pressing lock with the key fob? Did you have they key fob in your pocket when you jarred the truck?

so this truck has security system? thank you alsmaverick. well, i think i've only used that double pressing lock key fob once since i've learned about running my hand on top of the door handle to lock. also, i think i've always have the fob in my pocket. i will experiment later tonight when i get home from work. thank you again and i will keep you posted.

Not sure if 25MY is different, check your manual.

Fob lock only, double-press not required, sets the alarm.
Seems to me like the door lock method on exterior handle for keyless entry would be the same as fob lock - but that's not mentioned.

ARMING THE ANTI-THEFT ALARM SYSTEM

The alarm is ready to arm when you switch your vehicle off.
Lock your vehicle with your remote control to arm the alarm.

HOW DOES THE ANTI-THEFT ALARM SYSTEM WORK

When armed, the anti-theft alarm is triggered in any of the following ways:

• If someone opens a door, the liftgate or the hood without a correctly coded key or remote control.
• If you turn the power on without a correctly coded key.
• If the interior sensors detect movement inside your vehicle.
• If the inclination sensors detect an attempt to raise your vehicle.
• If someone disconnects your vehicle's 12V battery or the battery backup alarm.

If the anti-theft alarm is triggered, the alarm horn sounds for 30 seconds and the turn signals flash for 5 minutes.
Any further attempts to carry out one of the above sounds the alarm again.

well i'm finally back into swinging things. i apologize it has taken me this long to continue with my experiment. yesterday i actually forgot my key fob in my office at work, about 50 yards away, so i thought this would be the best time to test out the alarm. so i went to get my fob and locked the truck in a different manner, as in i double pressed the lock on fob and the horn chirped. i sat the key 20 yards away. then i tried opening the doors, tailgate, beat and banged all over the truck, but no alarm whatsoever. again i have a maverick 2025 lariat hybrid. this is a lot of money for it not to have a security system. or am i doing something wrong. help please. thank you. b

Reread my post above - not that kind of alarm you are testing.

Get a non-transponder key made to get into the truck - then you'll discover bullet points 1 & 2 work correctly.

From the chart below there are a few things that you can try

1. Roll down any window. Standing outside your truck. Lock your truck with your key fob. Place it a good distance away. Reaching through the open window and open the door. Your horn should start to honk.
2. If you have anyone who can assist you. Get inside your truck have your assistant lock it with the key fob.
Then move around inside the truck and see if anything happens.
Because of the seatbelt sensor. Nothing may happen because the truck knows that somebody is being locked in the truck.
3. Unless you have a tow truck handy you probably will not be able to check the inclination alarm.

ok this is when i say "stupid is, stupid does"... IT WORKS LIKE YOU SAID... i was looking and testing for something like the horn would sound when in gets bumped. IT WORKS AND THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!
