I have had my truck for about a year and a half, 20k miles, and the past two days there was some engine shaking/vibration noticeable while stopped and in drive.

No engine codes, no warning lights.

It has done this two days in a row.

Maybe a bad tank of gas?

This has never happened before.

I will keep monitoring and see if anyone else has any other ideas.

There is a damper between engine and eCVT - some have been reporting it having issues from the get-go, or after some time. Meant to cut out some jerkiness as engine spins up.

So stopped and engine running, does that mean:
Was running while driving and stayed running when you coasted & stopped?
Or stopped and then engine kicked on?
It's cold out and heat called for?
Or perhaps the HVB ran down to 30% and engine kicked on to recharge back to 40%?

The engine idle speed in those cases is usually rather low, I"ve seen 1500 to 2000 rpm.

So as soon as you started to accelerate it went away?

Stopped and engine running, means engine was on and vehicle not moving when it started.

I believe it continued when I started moving for a little which but I am not 100% sure.

HVAC was likely on 68 degrees, and it was cooler than 68 degrees outside, so heat was probably being used.

I believe engine was already running when I stopped and then I noticed it when I stopped.

I don't believe this occurred right at the time a low battery threshold was reached. (I monitor this with scangauge.)

I will attempt to gain more information if it happens again.

FYI... I was also one of the first ones documenting the issues with the hybrids randomly stopping and going into park. (this has since been fixed by recall.

My 2023 Maverick Lariat Hybrid does that once in a while too. My service advisor couldn’t find any cause and couldn’t replicate the shaking.

Of note is that I had heated seats and heated steering wheel on and dash lights dimmed as engine turned on , was around 30 degrees outside

Good point - makes sense.

DCDC Converter likely close enough to max Amps feeding the 12V system, when it threw some to the generator motor to start engine that line dropped.
Interesting load test, I've seen 30A going into 12V, but I got no extra heated things to turn on. But never tried to max it out and watch how fast the HVB drops then.

ETA - maxed out and saw 55A. briefly
I'm sure there are more 30A circuits than that though, so probably closer to good old 100A potential.

I've been experiencing the same engine shaking on stops, and I can feel it through the brake pedal. I only see this when the temperature is below freezing, and when the engine temp is cold. I took it to the dealer, and they couldn't find anything.

I think he might have some info. I *believe* this is caused by the engine warming up on cold days running at a higher than idle RPM. It's a programming/design thing and either Ford didn't test for it during their design phase or it's a feature not a bug. As long as you don't hear a loose marble sound coming from the transmission/engine mating area, this is "normal behavior".

It was really cold last year and it never did this. I'll keep monitoring and see if happens again.
