I've noticed that the Maverick's engine is very loud and not in a good way.
all I hear from it constantly is valve noise. Is this just a normal Ford thing? Does your Maverick sound similar?
The oil was changed 3000 miles ago and is changed every 3-4000 miles.
I wonder if there's going to be class action for the Maverick. Hopefully they get their quality control in order. So far its been 3000 miles (4800ks or so) since mine was changed and it hasn't noticibly slipped yet. Still will stick in a lower gear when going down hills on occasion, but I assume...
Had the same problem after a CV axle seal replacement at 1000 miles. Mine would only show up when the truck would stop/start when warmed up. It took months, 3 service appointments and something like 7 thousand more miles for my dealer to finally fix the vehicle they sold me and that was only...
Hi all,
When your Maverick turns itself off at a light do you hear coolant being sloshed around? I only ask because I recently went through multiple months of trying to get Ford to even identify that I had a slipping transmission. They ended up replacing said transmission, but I noticed after...
They tried replacing some kind of start stop module in the transmission, but that didn't fix it. They ended up replacing the transmission with a new one. They had it for almost 1 1/2 months. Just got it back. So far so good. If the problem comes back, I'll update the thread.
I can't tell if you're trolling or just don't know. The payload of the maverick is up to 1500lbs. That's 345lbs more than the Taco. Also, trucks tend to be less capable off-road as shorter wheel base off-road focused SUVs(high centering). Does that mean that all trucks are pavement princesses...
I haven't been able to record mine yet, but this is what it does except mine eventually shifts with the exception of one time in a drive-thru:
It looks like I'm not alone.
After having the axle seal replaced on mine (leaking) it has been shifting weird/slipping primarily when it shuts off and turns back on. If you figure it out I'd love to hear what it was. I've taken to disabling auto stop/start since it seems to reduce the problem. The dealers I've taken it to...
Not sure if anyone is still looking at this thread, but I think I've narrowed down when it happens. It seems to happen after it auto stops and starts. Its completely random, but if I manage to record it I'll post the video here. I also took it to another dealer and they found that the...
Mine has transmission issues that started at 1000 miles after a leaking axle seal was replaced. The tranmission seems to partially engage a gear after it auto starts. Its eractic. The only consistent thing is that it happens after it auto stops starts again. Its completely random.
Those are my thoughts exactly. There was brown transmission fluid on the top of the engine and you could smell it burning. I didn't remove the cover on the bottom of the engine as I was near the dealership when it happened and didn't have a jack with me.
I just heard back from the dealership and they're saying they dont see anything wrong. I don't know how a transmission hasitates to shift and slips so bad it barely moves and then BAM "its fine". I wish I would have looked it over myself before taking it back. I whole heartedly believe that...
Luckily enough, I was getting food near the dealership when I noticed it slipping. I parked it in their lot and am going to call them to let them know tomorrow.
Same here. I was planning on changing the fluid at 50-60k. If Ford was in the business of keeping their vehicles on the road they would offer a decent warranty.
I'm aware. My point was that the warrenty doesnt even remotely cover the transmission until its first transmission fluid change (under normal operating conditions). If they mask the issue for a 34k miles than the warranty would not cover it's replacement. Even if it covered it for 60k thats...
