I got my Maverick in May this year. It's an XLT with 2.0, front wheel drive. I've put 10,000 miles on it and it ran fine until 5 weeks ago Friday. I went out to start it and only heard a click. Just in case I charged the battery but still only clicked with the key turn. I called dealership who directed me to Ford Roadside Assistance. They picked it up with a tow truck and it's been at the dealership since. They've put several new parts on it but have only been able to get it to start intermittently. They thought they had it pinned down but the new part they put on yesterday gave the same results. Has anyone else had this problem?
I can't complain too much since they've given me a nice loaner car but I'd like to get my truck back. I'd appreciate any ideas or suggestions on this issue. Thank you.

Other posts have reported battery issues and there has been speculation about a batch of bad batteries. I would assume the dealer did a thorough load test of the battery, but the incompetence can be surprising at some dealers.

Thank you for the suggestions. I called the dealership this morning to ask which parts have been replaced so far. I also asked about the battery. They said they'd check the technician's notes and get back to me. I haven't received the call yet. I'll update once they provide more info.

I had that same problem on my car. Turned out to be the connection from the ground strap to the engine block. Corrosion/ looseness. Cleaned it up and put it back tight with some grease and it ran like new. Of course your Maverick is a lot newer so it's a long shot but worth checking.

After 7 weeks in the shop I have the Maverick back. It ended up being a faulty connector in the wire harness for the gear shift. They replaced the wire harness. Hopefully that's the last of the electrical issues.
