Got my truck last Tuesday, maiden road trip was this past weekend CA to NM/TX and back. For the most part MPG was consistently 25-26 but we hit a lot of wind in both directions. On the westbound drive between Tucson and Phoenix I hit 31 mph. ECO mode of course and I had just filled up with Regular at Costco in Tucson, typical octane but 10% ethanol.

I've just had mine a few days. One 100 mile round and commuting to work. Thus far overall I am averaging around 36 MPG. I recently did a 10 mile trip and was able to get 43 MPG. I am certainly happy with the MPG overall.

Are these with an Ecoboost?

Yes, the AWD is only available with the 2.0 Ecoboost engine.

I should probably add that I also have the 4K tow package.

No I have the Hybrid now. The Ecoboos I had orginally purchased has the gas tank recall hold on it. They had no clue when the take was coming in. This was after a extended wait for it to arrive at the dealership. Now it's been there for 5 weeks with no eta for the parts. Someone decided not to purchase a Shadow Black Hybrid, so I jumped on that.

That is encouraging. Since it takes 3x horsepower to achieve 2x speed, how fast were you driving? Since these trucks are not exactly aerodynamic wonders, speed will be a large determinate in your mileage. Lower altitude helps too since the turbo does not have to boost as much...

Is that stretch of highway 70 mph, 75?

Itā€™s 75 along that stretch. I usually drive at 5 to 10 mph over the posted limit, but by no means a lead foot. I tend to feather the pedal, itā€™s an old hypermiling habit from my Prius C days.

Not bad, but iā€™m more impressed by hybrid owners posting how many miles achieved in electric mode.

31mpg hwy for awd short truck is okay, but nothing that a non-hybrid awd version of a CR-V, Rav-4, or Forester couldnā€™t achieve.
25-30mpg ecoboost should be expected. Are awd CR-V owners shocked when they get 30mpg? šŸ˜„ I hope not.
Itā€™s the world we live in now. 40+ mpg is achievable with hybrid variants or even something as big as an awd Sienna minivan now.
