can we please move on from the back and forth turbo lag debate/battle. I don't think anybody cares at this point.
Yes, we got way off topic.

Now I understand to a point, do not floor it right away from a dead stop. Push down a little, get going, then push steadily until I get to the speed I want.
And keep it is SPORT mode in town/traffic.

Cannot wait to get this Maverick and try it out.

I say opposite put it to the floor. 😂 Honestly just drive it it’s far better than most vehicles I have owned.
You will enjoy it and never will worry about it. Especially if you just remember to turn off the auto stop. Or as you sound like you will anyway tune it.
The tune I have has it turned off automatically.
I simply enjoy the drivability of tuned stuff far better. That’s was a bonus but a major reason to tune it

. If I’m at a dead stop in my Tesla and I mash the throttle because I need to take evasive action, there is literally no lag. The lag of like 10 ms is how long it takes my foot to move the accelerator to the floor. 0 lb/ft to 500 lb/ft of torque in 10 ms. Do the same in a Maverick and it is 1500 ms to go from 0 lb/ft to 250 lb/ft. Why is the Maverick so much slower? Because of the turbo. That is turbo lag.
It's obviously because it's an electric motor which cannot be compared to any combustion engine.

I showed you a real data log disproving turbo lag as a legitimate concern for a Maverick ecoboost, and you respond with making up bs, name dropping the expensive vehicles you've supposedly owned, and demonstrating very clearly you have no idea what you're talking about.

He clearly doesn’t understand what turbo lag is.
By his logic a N.A. drag car would also have turbo lag without even having a turbo.
My gt500 by his way of thinking has a ton of super charger lag.
they simply don’t understand the difference between turbo lag and just a lag of input to propulsion.

I’m going to jump back to the OP’s initial question, as I own both an EB Maverick and a 6 cylinder Dodge…same as the OP.
The Dodge does win the race off the line, but I have never been squeezed at an entrance ramp w the Mav. I am truly amazed at the performance of this little motor, both in terms of usable speed/acceleration and economy. I only put it in Sport mode a couple of times just to see what it did. Both Normal and Eco mode work just fine for me. I don’t drive like a racer, but I’m no Slowski either. There are a few things I wish were done differently on this trucklet, but the EB drivetrain is really done well and fits my driving style.
Buy it…Enjoy it…try one at a dealer or rent one first if you have doubts.

Hybrid Mav for the win here. No lag off the line with the electric motor helping, no start-stop bs, Plus 50mpg's. No idle vibration/engine noise sitting in traffic or a drive though line. You shouldn't even consider the Ecoboost unless given to you.

I think at one point he even brought up a Subaru and their anemic 2.5 boxer engine (LOL - I've owned that weak ass engine thrice!) having more throttle response than the 2.0eb because of turbo lag which entirely proves the point many of us are trying to get across to him - that it is the 8F35 and not the 2.0eb and turbo lag.

Subarus have a notoriously touchy throttle with immediate response that makes it feel quick but that quickly quickly fades as it chugs itself to 60 in about 10 seconds. The throttle and the transmission are set up to give that quick initial feel of power - but it is all an illusion - with its max 176 ft lbs of torque being laid down at a lofty 4,400 rpm.

Again - it is the 8F35. Hard stop.

You can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink it.

Flooring it gives the same throttle response in all modes. It is always what you want to do if you need to run from danger.

If you can anticipate that you might need that kind of performance, putting it in SPORT will have the transmission ready for takeoff. I use that for situations like this: Left lane merge onto expressway with a yield sign

ECO will be quite lethargic with part throttle though. Great for fuel economy as it allows you to fine tune how much throttle is needed.

I run ECO in town because I am not going anywhere fast. Traffic makes everything slow down. SPORT would make the truck jumpier and just burn a lot of gas with a high idle. Not ideal for heavy stop and go.

I will disable auto start/stop with the button by the drive mode selector if it is causing an issue. I actually wish it would stop more often to save fuel. Rarely though, it will sometimes keep shutting of right when I need to start moving and ends up cycling way too much. Then I will disable it temporarily.

Ha, just the reverse here, ya couldn’t give me the hybrid version, I feel sorry for what many of those owners in this forum have gone through, totally unacceptable imo. MPG doesn’t mean nothing when ya have to constantly be concerned if it’s going to quit in the middle of the hwy or not start

the person who wrote that lives in atlanta according to his profile here. you could not pay me enough to live in atlanta, and especially to drive in that traffic. a hybrid does make sense there, but not nearly as much sense as simply living somewhere else.

The only constantly recurring problems are CV axles and deep sleep battery issues.

No fix yet for CV axles but I change my own oil so will inspect every 5k and also will be covered by ESP through Granger.

BMS fix from ford is coming in 2025 but an AGM replacement battery goes a long way to resolving the issues ($150).

Well actually the suburbs of Atlanta...but I will agree in that Atlanta has deteriorated over the years sadly.
My '24 must be a good one or Ford has worked the bugs out as I've had no issues in almost 14K miles to date. Still early, but I'll bet less troublesome than that turbo 4/8-speed combo. Not having to hear a 4 banger at idle is pure bliss...

I initially ordered a hybrid, but Ford's production shortage moved me to switch (situation dictated that I needed a replacement vehicle quickly). I'm not doing too shabby with 32.5 MPG HWY.

The part I am missing the most about the hybrid though is that the climate controls (especially the AC) keep working despite that state of the gas engine. It gets hot in the summer during the EcoBoost's stop start cycle.
