I've driven 15,000 miles in a year and a half, and am still quite happy with the truck. This though is my only real complaint. I don't know if is something about the black plastic trim used on the Maverick, but my 2022 XLT Hybrid always has these black streaks all around its Cyber Orange body panels and front bumper. Have never noticed it with any other vehicle parked in the driveway. Short of regularly washing and scrubbing the body clean, I have no clue how to prevent these streaks everywhere.

Yes, this is my only real complaint. Sure a front fender does not align perfectly with the bumper; it has been subject to three recalls, plus a service bulletin or two; the paint color of the bumper is slightly different than the body panels; and the drive mode not staying in Eco mode, but those are just the minor annoyances of owning any first-year vehicle, even more so for one built during a worldwide pandemic.

Did you use any treatment on the trim ? I don't see this on a HPR one after washing, only trim treatment I have used is the Cerakote wipes

Most of the trim restorers run off and streak after a rainfall, I use the Cerakote wipes as well , no runoff or steaking after rain or washing truck ,excellent product.

Not that I recall. But if ever did, it was at least a year ago.

Mine looks like this also after ~2 weeks without a wash. I get it on the bedside where the water drains too.

I figured it just came with the bright color. I have only ever used 303 on the plastics after washing.

Maybe someone with a white truck can chime in if they have the same problem?

Mine is white and get the same thing after rain. My previous vehicle also white did the same thing.

I understand there is some black plastic protector that you’re supposed to use to treat all the plastic, especially in FL. If you want to talk about black streaks you should see my white ‘02 F250 after I wash it😱 I never did anything to protect the vinyl or rubber and it bleeds black!

Not sure if I should feel relieved or not that the problem is not unique to my Maverick.

Can you use a waterless wash like Meguiars Waterless Wash with a microfiber and remove the streaks after it is dry from a normal wash ? I use this to hit any water drips from the bed/emblems/handles that ALWAYs seems to drip no matter how much leaf blower / hand drying I do.

What others have said about Cerakote wipes. Great product. It will solve your problem or your money back. :ROFLMAO:

Rarely will you see the colors match from the body to the bumpers. Some colors are more noticeable than others. Generally made and painted in different plants. One of the worst for this I have seen is the old Daimler-Chrysler Crossfires. The cars were assembled in Germany by Karmann and the bumpers made here in the states and shipped over. Crystal Red Pearl was the worst for this.

Alignment issues on a low end vehicle is to be expected. I will be shocked if I do not see a few on my Maverick. All my Rangers had more than a few.

Never had those streaks happen to mine, but:

We have super good modern car washes in my town, paint friendly and $15 a month/unlimited washes. Consequently, my vehicles never get really dirty.

I also use this brand of car wax/ sealant. It has UV protectant in it. It’s safe and effective on all surfaces.

I use it on everything on the outside, paint, glass, head / taillight plastic, black plastic /rubber trim. The only thing I don’t spray it on is the tires.

Anyway, it doesn’t run off or streak like some trim restorers.

I only use 303 on the interior now.

I can't say I've noticed it if I've had it, but I keep my vehicles VERY clean. Clay bar, 303 graphene, and 303 UV protectant on the plastics/interior. No doubt any excess will streak, but I've never had that issue unless it's a spot I forgot to dry and soak up any excess on. I will be keeping an eye on it now though. But there is definitely some spots that streak very easily, like the emblem in front of the doors and from the mirrors. After I wash I do my best to dry but I still find myself going over it again when I get home and sometimes notice it the following day as well.

I have a white one and same thing. Only had two weeks hasn't even been washed.

Had a white explorer and never had this problem 🫤
