The cheapest options are a used Ford VCM ii for about $150 or the VCX NANO for FORD for $125 on amazon. You may need to download specific drivers for the J2534 OBD adapter you are using.
Did you get any warnings about a virus in the VCX NANO drivers?

I purchased one a few years ago and used it a few times. But then at some point it required me to use the latest drivers. And my antivirus software kept saying there was a virus in the drivers.

Does your VCX NANO have an expiration date where you may need to pay another fee to continue using it?

It looks like something expires in 2030 maybe the firmware or VX manager license. But the driver for FDRS is in the download for the VX manager. I tried to download the VX manager beta and it would not let me because antivirus was kicking in but it let me install the latest release non beta. It's working fine for me I followed these instructions below.

The other option is a used VCMii on eBay for like $150-200 . Or a $550 Mongoose cable or a few other options that are $1000+ just for the obd adapter. not even for the FDRS software.

Yeah I didn't realize there is a 6 year expiration date on the license/frimware but idk if that actually makes the cable unusable

That is from Chrome, but even if I use a different browser. When I try and run the executable, I get an alarm from my Anti-Virus software.

My dealer wanted to charge me $200 to install this. Tried to make it sound like this HUGE process and how everything needs to be updated. I just wanted to roll my eyes. Going to see if I can find someone else to install it for cheaper.

Mine showed the same thing. It is simply because it's a download from an unfamiliar website. I had similar issues at first with antivirus blocking the download. copy and paste this link into your browser. It should automatically start downloading.

Yeah that's crazy. It's maybe 10 minutes for them to complete the install. I was able to do it for $175 myself ($125 obd scanner and $50 FDRS subscription) and now I have that OBD adapter I can use later for FDRS again or other softwares!

I don’t see the need for the stick on button lock when I can lock/unlock my Maverick from my iwatch Which I always have on my wrist

It can also be used to upgrade any of the module firmware.
https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/f...im-levels-and-options-found-by-forscan.11122/

If there is a recall that is fixed by new firmware, Ford will do the upgrade for free. If there is a major bug that does not cause a safety issue then Ford may upgrade the firmware for free. But if there is a feature enhancement or minor bug fix, Ford will allow the dealers to do an upgrade but they will charge the customer.
I'm pretty sure this is the only way to do a Sync 4 firmware update as well.

So I decided to place the wireless keypad vertically similar to the location of the OEM wired keypad for the Maverick. I then added 2009 Ford Explorer keypad stickers to the buttons to make it look better!
