I'm really disappointed. Being a super low cost hybrid was the main selling point to me, and now that's out the window. I get the market is nuts, but this just seems like a cash grab.

I consider it still base. You have no choice but to take what was options even if you did not want them. It was a base with a wide choice of options. Now they have stuffed the options into the BASE!! You can not get less than the base..........

If I had to guess, the alternative to painted mirrors is cheaper to do.

Really glad I payed for the upgrades on my '23 Lariat.Had the '22 XLT 18 months and love the Lariat lane centering,adaptive cruise and power seat and 5 year nav.And got 2 bonuses.They gave me enough in trade to upgrade free and the wife likes it so much gonna downsize to just the Maverick and sell her '23 Palasade Calligraphy,win win for me!

Ford waxed lyrical about "An American truck base model hybrid for under $20,000".
It doesn't sound the same as "A truck with an optional hybrid ($) for close to $30K".

Area 51 definitely looks a little more vibrant to me, which I prefer, but I agree, the colors look very similar. Makes no sense to phase one out just to replace with with essentially the same thing.

Just called a local Dealer and he wants a refundable $1000 for taking my order. Kind of sad that they will use my money for a year. Hmmmm. They are hoping that I will cancel and they can sell my car at a higher price. Will do some digging to see if the Toyota Stout is flat towable. Once again, thank you for your input.

Maverick been priced out, Ford never wanted to sell them anyway.

I'd imagine it's gonna be a little hard to find that info since the Toyota Stout does not exist.

Why so bitter? After 491 day wait, I got my Hybrid. I'd do the wait again. There are thousands of Maverick Hybrids. You can even buy one of several of them at Carmax...Lariat Hybrids between $38k and $46k. They do exist.
