I've wondered if you could put a suction cup on the window - the type you hang Christmas lights with, and attach a wand to it, similar to mini blinds wand, to open it from the front seat easier.

I have the rear power slider window on my 24 Lariat and I use it all of the time. Probably wouldn't as much if it wasn't a power slider. Without it open you get so much more noise (air flows through better) when you have one of the front windows down. When the weather is real good in the desert of AZ (currently) I do a lot of driving with the drivers window, back slider & the moon roof open.

🤔I found the sunroof of my Buick Encore was just as effective at quieting the wind buffeting as the powered rear window was in my Sport Trac.

I know there has been several posts about both power and Manual rear sliding glass option for the Maverick and whether It’s useful or practical or not. In my case I purchased a 22 Maverick XL brand new and have been doing some modifications to my liking - I liked the idea of a rear sliding glass since I occasionally transport my 80 pound yellow lab in the back and she likes to peek through and check on us. The grandkids sit in the back and it’s nice to lower the front windows and open the rear slider for a cross breeze they seem to like that / I saw a few used sliders on eBay, both power and manual for what still seemed like a pretty good premium.

I found this aftermarket slider from national auto glass direct located in south El Monte, California - it was $403 with free shipping - it’s identical and design to the OEM factory glass but the center glass is approximately 2 inches wider, which was fine by me since the OEM is so tiny- The rear view from inside is perfectly fine/ Your local glass guy charged me $75 for the removal and installation. I boxed up and saved my old glass just in case. I hope some of you guys find this useful -

I’ve got the same truck in same color & regret not getting the sliding rear window. I didn’t get it because I thought it was only available in manual with XL. Was worried that if caught in rain shower I’d have to pull over & get in the back to close. I got the moonroof but seldom use. I had a manual slider rear window in 2 door, ‘97 F150 bench seat truck & used window frequently for long stuff sticking out of 6ft bed.

If I had an XL or XLT without a MRSW, I'd be all over this. If my Lariat PRSW ever gets ruined (someone throws a log through the back window when loading firewood for example), I'd look at their power slider to retrofit. The extra width is a nice improvement over OEM... with the existing electronics, it would be rather OEM+..

Thanks for the post. I've been wanting to put a power sliding rear window on my 24 XLT And this might push me over the edge to do it. I ordered it, but unfortunately it became unavailable due to parts constraints.

I'm interested in how you plan to do this since I have a XLT MY24 as well. Are you going to order the motor, wiring and switches separately? If you could document it or if you have instructions you're following, I would be immensely grateful.

I'm probably not going to even try it until it warms up outside. I'll try to remember document it. But my method of doing it will be to hijack my friend's brain who is really smart. He builds robots and rebuilds car engines. Otherwise I have no idea how to do it.

Outside of that, I would probably obtain the parts and have a car window installation company put it in.

I think it looks awesome. You went with the manual option, did the company you got that glass from have a power option?
