I watched the video. I appreciated his take on things. I have been going back and forth on colors and if I wanted the BAP or not. After seeing this video I think I might want the Space White Metallic without the BAP. I think it’s one of the few colors that would look good with the interior color palette.
I agree! And that is exactly why I also ordered Space White on my 2025 Lariat! I like the Eruption Green... but not with aĺl the blue inside!

I'd love to prove you wrong but I know is a waste of time..you are from California and used to overpay for everything
"Easter Eggs" are priced in..and you pay on your Escape with a bed as much as you'd pay for a F150 with a V8 Coyote because of them

Best value is XL ..everything else is not needed. When you pay more on a truck you do it for increase payload or tow rating not for Easter Eggs
You gain no HP, no extra MPG, no extra tow rating, no extra payload ..yet you pay 15k more over XL...
The issue is not that he’s from California and is used to overpaying for everything. Cars are the same price in California as they are in Mississippi. The issue is how much money you have. When I was 22 and a broke student, I would have loved to have a new xl Maverick hybrid. The cheaper the better! But now that I am 50, my house is mostly paid off, I have hundreds of thousands in retirement accounts and I don’t have any other car payment, I was like hell yeah! I want the B&O sound system, the heated seats, the heated steering wheel, the spray in bed liner, awd, the FX4 package, the 4K towing package, I’ll take all the options! Even with all the options, my 2024 Lariat was less than $38k. The current new vehicle average transaction price is $48,724. So I got a fully loaded lariat Maverick for $11,000 less than what the average vehicle price is in the US. Would I pay the $75,010 MSRP for an F-150 lariat with FX4, tow package and spray in bed liner? Nope. But I would take a similarly configured Maverick for half that price!

I went with white too. I like the red and the green, but in the end I tend to get tired of most colors after a year or two. White is the only color I don't seem to get tired of.

Not sure what the attraction for Space White is. Next to an Oxford White truck, the SW looks dirty doesn't it?
I ordered Space White because it goes with the interior. I call it white... with a twist! I would never order Oxford white because it looks like all the other fleet trucks.

Have a '25 Hybrid Lariat on order. Yes, it's expensive for the physical size, but my criteria for a pickup truck purchase is as follows:
  • Suitable replacement vehicle for my '13 RWD Frontier that gets 16-22 mpg, depending on weather
  • Daily driver for me to/from work in an in-town scenario of city roads with lots of stops
  • Easier in-town driving with a tighter turning radius than the Frontier
  • No larger physically than my Frontier to comfortably fit in my garage
  • AWD for winter weather in the upper midwest
  • Need to occasionally haul stuff from a big-box store or garden center (mulch, etc.), or do light hauling of debris or yard waste to the landfill - currently have 6' bed, but a 4.5' bed will be "good enough" for 95% of the hauling I do.
  • Room for 4 people inside for short to medium trips
  • Comfortable vehicle for 1000mi road trips, to take the dependence off of our Subaru Forester which is currently our road trip car
  • Potential for towing a small covered trailer
  • Safety features and comforts such as adaptive cruise, 360 camera, BLIS, heated seats/steering wheel that although not mandatory, sure are nice to have, especially once has gotten used to having them
So the only two vehicles that meet most or all of the above criteria are a Lariat Maverick and a Hyundai SC, and for the features I'm desiring for my next vehicle, the Maverick is a lot less expensive, and I really don't like the car-like appearance and smaller bed in the SC, along with the forced permanent tonneau cover that can't be removed for full bed accessibility. Even if I wanted to go with a sedan or small SUV (like our Forester), the cost wouldn't be any less than the Maverick Lariat.

I have mixed feelings on the 2025. I actually don't think the front end looks as offensive as it did when the first pics came out so that is good. Not sold on the increased digital dash and lack of the physical buttons for the climate control. I think its a step backwards as is the whole digital dash, but to each their own. I like there is no longer a space next to the infotainment center and that's its higher resolution....but think Ford should have offered another interior color besides blue.

They do, if you get the black appearance package.

Seems like a lot of excuses made for paying more for smaller.

Not everyone wants a big truck. The old Ranger and current Maverick are right-sized for many people.
So true. My dealer says he gets so many people saying the Maverick is the true new Ranger and that’s why so many people love it. Ford should have called the Maverick Ranger and the new Ranger F-100.

That is true but ford has jacked the price up way to high for a 4 door copy of a 1988 Mazda B2200. Looks almost like it.

My thoughts on the price increase and why I don't care/am not making 'excuses' as to why I don't care:

I make over $70,000 a year, which is a lot for a law enforcement officer without rank compared to the national average. Also, due to an agreement with my apartment complex, I do not pay rent in exchange for a very hands-on, robust community officer program (luxury apartments, and they don't want the riff-raff troubles at normal complexes). I average 1-3 hours of work per day at my own home.

With all of these benefits, and relatively frugal living, as well as being a single income home with no kids, that income should be pretty nice all things considered, right? Wrong. We are living paycheck to paycheck with no debt. That is how bad things have become. Our country is in the ICU and people are just now realizing it. With all perks considered, it's as if I am making almost $100k a year in the State of Georgia. That used to be above middle-class. I am most certainly middle-middle class, now, if that. That is insane. As a young man of 29 years of age, I feel betrayed.

So the Maverick solves several things for me:

1. New and reliable transport (always have had older vehicles, like a 2011 Crown Vic, a 2012 Kia Forte, a 2001 Expedition, etc., and while reliable, also wasn't reliable, and certainly bad MPG)
2. Relatively low MPG (I can milk as much as 50, sometimes more)
3. Drives and rides like a car, so my wife is comfortable driving it
4. Has the benefits of a small truck, especially now with AWD and 4k towing
5. Seats 5 in a pinch, so it isn't like the original rangers from the early 2000s with zero cabin room

However, with my financial situation in mind, the MPG is the most significant benefit combined with the others. With my current vehicle lineup, a 2016 Ford Explorer and the Kia Forte, we're spending $400 a month on gas. Replacing my Explorer with the Maverick will decrease this dramatically. I already had a 2023 Maverick and experienced losing it last November, and had to buy the Explorer. It may get 15 mpg on a good day. Not only that, but believe it or not, it costs more to insure the 9 year old Explorer than it does to insure my 2025 Maverick.

All this to say: yes, I paid $23k for my first Maverick, compared to $40k this time (XLT to Lariat, too). But I don't mind the increase/did not affect my decision on whether to stick with it. I still believe that the Ford Maverick is the single best new model offered by Ford in a generation, because it solves so many issues at the same time and is innovative, and compared to the rest, also cost-efficient. It also is one of the safest Fords on the market, actually one of the safest vehicles on the market per Consumer Reports for crash safety and the like.

My new 2025 came in yesterday, and I am picking it up today. Issues with my salesman trying to juggle 3 customers at once put me past the bank closing yesterday, so I am picking up my check this morning. Pictures in a new thread will be posted this evening, I'm sure.
