I'm planning on buying another vehicle for work and I'm currently looking at a 2022 maverick hybrid XL for 22.5k with 49k miles. Clean carfax. Does this seem like a good deal?

We need a link. At 49k miles without knowing what's in it, better off just praying you find a new 2025 xl hybrid.

I've been looking but they're none on dealer lots currently that aren't customer ordered and any new 2024s I find are being held due to the camera recall.

Not worth. 4k more will get you a new truck.
- better screen
- better warranty
- no surprises
- may be free oil changes by dealer
- better resale value
I see where you're coming from, but I can't find any 2025s on dealer lots yet and any 2024s I come across are being held due to the camera recall. Also, after doing the 2025 builder on ford's website, the bare minimum XL build is $28,685 and ends up being over 31k after taxes which is a pretty steep price difference at that point.

Priced a little high for a 22 with 49k miles.
Since we don't know when the camera recall will get fixed and not sure how soon you need the truck but I would consider waiting, once the 24's are available for sale there might be some good deals.

Not knowing how that XL is equipped, all I can say is that money is more than its MSRP three years and 49000 miles ago. You have no warranty, the '22 XL's had no cruise and many recalls. I know prices have really gone up since then, but remember you will still pay taxes after the $22.5k. Not a good value IMO. If it has upgraded wheels, CP360 (includes power mirrors, full size spare), hitch, rear sliding window, then it does become a better value - still not great. If it's a strippo XL, easy pass.

It makes sense, if you need it for work, you need it now! Check to make sure it has a clean background, and that all the recalls have been taken care of. I would also look into an ESP plan from Granger Ford to cover anything in the furture.

They will have huge discounts on 24s when the 25s start hitting the lots, ford better get that fix out soon or dealership are going to get screwed.

Seems like you've already made up your mind. I base that on the fact that you are defending your position. Even though you asked the question whether it was a good deal or not. Folks pointed out not knowing what the options are. You quite possibly could be paying more than MSRP for a USED first year base xl 2022 Maverick hybrid with 49,000 No warranty.
It's your money, your decision.
Good luck.

Very unnecessarily hostile response. No I have not made up my mind and am leaning towards not getting it due to the lack of value, just wanted some opinions to make sure I wasn't overlooking anything. I did link the truck in a comment above.

This is priced above original MSRP and it doesn't even have cruise control.

I bet you could find an XLT from a private party for a similar price. Or wait for the fire sale on new 2024's when the recalls are complete.

You need to do some research. Look at ads for private sellers and dealers.

Nothing hostile in his response.
