Holy crap I am so tired of hearing this every time the 2025s come up.
A: they were never $19,995. Never. And even if they were the dealer would mark them up. That number was a marketing gimmick from ford to get people in the door because they knew they would never have to honor it.
B: it's not the same truck anymore. You're getting way more features in the base truck than the 22'-24's.
C: even if you weren't given any more than the old trucks, whomp whomp, they have a 6 month backlog. Clearly people are willing to pay more for more features.
D: even at 40k there is nothing competing in this segment. The Santa cruz sucks and the honda Ridgeline is massive and only comes with a v6.
E: At the base price it comes in, even the 2025 model, it's one of the cheapest new vehicles you can buy today. Let alone a hybrid awd "truck" that can tow 4000lbs. You're not buying it for the interior you're buying it for the utility. You guys are like "hurrdurr da interior sucks" Yeah no shit, it would be a $60,000 vehicle if it had a nice interior.
Preach it, brother/sister!!

F150 is a much, much higher priced vehicle than the Maverick when you compare trim level to trim level. For example, the base price for Lariat F-150 is $65,000 and Lariat Maverick is $36,000.
my friend has the f150, its a super nice full size truck, think he paid 62k or so. 15k cash, and like 30k trade in and still paying. but he tells me he gets like 16mpg - 20mpg average, (he has the v6 I believe) but its a massive truck. that said he loves it.

I sat in a 2024 maverick lariat, and I didnt think the interior quality was awful. just thought the brown was hideous in that, which 25 models seems like its white/tan instead of brown so I can get behind it.

feels like luxury compared to my 20k scion tc from 2012 lol.

Not really. I could afford $5k more on a spare car and it is much and feel safer in a F150. Safety alone is worth more than $5k. Not to mention a more powerful engine. The resale value should be better on a F150 and it should be easier to sell or trade. Once a tiny truck trend dies down, it will be interesting how the market will react. Maverick is a good truck but not at F150 price.
Why are we comparing an f150 to the maverick?

It's worse on gas, harder to park, harder to navigate streets/traffic, you cant park underground in some places, it's more expensive, it's body on frame, leafsprings etc etc etc etc. It's like someone is looking at buying a miata "DURR WHY WHEN U CAN GET AN F150 FOR THAT PRICE" Like I dunno maybe I just don't want to daily drive a f*cking full size pickup truck to haul a couple bags of dirt a few times a year? Why does everyone shut their brains off when it comes to any vehicle with a bed. I swear the lead in the gasoline really did a number to you guys.

Sure you could get an STX for around 45k but it’s much bigger, sucks down a lot more gas and insurance costs more. Now the stx is basically like an XL maverick trim. So that would be 28k vs 45k. Why does everyone compare the top of the line Maverick when it comes to talking about price. My 25 xlt has a price just over 34k.
Said exactly what I was going to. There will always be price overlap when you compare a higher-trim smaller vehicle with a lower-trim larger one. A Maverick Lariat hybrid AWD is just about the most optioned-out that a hybrid Maverick can be. Meanwhile an F-150 STX doesn't even have a power seat, nor the option for one, nor dual-zone automatic climate control, or heated seats, or SofTex. If those aren't important then a Maverick XL can be had for cheaper.

Heck an F-150 STX 4x4 crew cab rings up at $52,505. An F-250 XL 4x4 crew cab rings up at $53,885. Might as well get the F-250 at that rate and be able to pull a house behind it; features, parking, fuel economy, insurance, and NVH be darned.

I'll chime in, since I saw a Hot Pepper Red on the local dealers lot and it looked really sharp. I'm guessing the Ruby Red looks good in person too. I'm not sure it looks $400 better than the other colors, but that's just my opinion.

My Space White Maverick isn't here yet. It lists Pro Trailer Hitch Assist in the specs when I look at the online order tracker, but it's not on the window sticker. I don't expect it to have it, but I won't be upset if it does. It shipped on the 18th, so I should find out in a few weeks.

Anyway, to those saying why not just buy an F150, I'm buying this to replace my Camry and I think it'll be great. If I wanted an F150 I'd already have one, but I wanted something with better mileage that can still do some basic truck stuff, get around fairly well in the snow, and be ok for longer trips. If I need to do real truck stuff, that's what my F350 is for, but it's huge, and thirsty. For the majority of the driving I do I think I'll be much happier in my Maverick, with around 3x the mileage (using cheaper fuel), and most of the features that make my F350 so comfortable.

You’re absolutely right and that’s why Ford hasn’t priced the Maverick anywhere close to the F150.

Because it justifies their position that anything above an XL is garbage.

Sure you can get into an f150 work truck for $40k (standard cab, 2wd, no options). Or you can get into a 2019 XLT with 50k miles on it….

You can rest easy knowing your Maverick will not arrive with the Pro Trailering features.

people who bitch about the interior are new to ford and have never sat in an f150 before.

Took an Expedition Max Limited home yesterday (MSRP -$83,400) for my dad to look at. $83,400. It had some cheaper interior parts than the Maverick.

The Mavericks interior is more than adequate at any of its trim levels.

I figure red trucks are cop bait. Never got a ticket in my life (have to admit cops were usually nice to nurses on their way into work) but after getting a bright red F-150, got ticketed twice.
but I think a candy apple red Maverick would be cool.

Looks decent but I'm still bummed that's replacing Hot Pepper Red. That color really stands out in the sun. This new one looks more like a brick red which is just okay, not great. The HPR is an orange red which is very unique. I mean, just look at my avatar. Sun beating right on it (y)
Couldn’t agree with you more, But I’m partial to HPR especially with a couple coats of ceramic Graphene .

Avoid hybrid, unless you want to be frequently stuck on "deep sleep" . My 2024 hybrid, 9 months old, 8 Ford road assists for battery jump and 2 tows, 4 days at dealer, no solution yet. Ford admits that modules drain the battery when ignition is off and does not have a solution. They say maybe in first quarter 2025. Horrible and useless electronics engineering.
