My dealer called me on Thursday about this. I took it in yesterday, and it took just over a half hour while I waited. They hooked up a charger to the engine battery under the back seat to keep it topped off while the update did its thing. I haven't noticed a difference after the update, but I'd...
I didn't realize I had Premium Connectivity until I started getting the notifications that it was expiring. I don't use the included navigation, and I definitely don't use Alexa or the karaoke "feature." I'm not about to start now.
I ordered my 25 Lariat hybrid from my local dealer on the last Friday in August, and I got it in the middle of January. The local guys have always treated me right, so I didn't even think about going out of town.
The delay between order and delivery gave me just enough time to prepare, so by...
My F350 has my 36' gooseneck on it this week, so rather than unhooking it I figured I'd see what my hybrid Maverick can do. This 22' flatbed weighs about 3k empty, and the pallet racking I picked up was about 1k, so I was right at the 4k limit. I loaded everything a little further back than I...
I ordered Husky liners for mine, on a Black Friday deal, and got them a month and a half before my Maverick was even delivered.
Sounds like you have a bad dealer. Hopefully you can get everything resolved soon.
I was maybe a little over the max payload capacity, but definitely not by 50%. Maybe not at all. The max payload capacity is 1,500lbs, and the lumber was around 1,000-1,200lbs. Plus me, and whatever else happend to be in the cab at the time, I probably wasn't overweight overall.
The speed limit...
It's a Diamondback, specifically the Switchback.
All aluminum and made in the USA by a small company rather than one owned by a private equity firm, with a pricetag to prove it. Be prepared for some sticker shock.
I bought mine on Black Friday, which softened the blow a little bit. It came...
My cover is aluminum, and it has a listed capacity of 400lbs. I wouldn't say it's made for exactly this kind of job, but I think the designers knew it would come up.
The cover on my F350 is rated for 2,000lbs on top. I've never come close to that, but it's built tough enough.
I'll admit you're partially right. At least in principle. Maybe mostly, even, but not completely. Your math isn't quite right though.
The back of wheel wells extend about 30" from the front of the bed. The corner of the tailgate is about 76" from the front of the bed in the middle position...
The Maverick has a 1,500lb payload capacity. Ford has advertised that it can carry 18 sheets of 3/4 plywood, which would be around 1,200lbs, maybe a little more. By my estimates I was right in that range.
The tailgate mid position is rated for 500lbs. I didn't do the math, but on this load...
My cover has attachment points for straps right on it, so the stuff on top wasn't going anywhere. I drove a half hour to get home, mostly at 75mph, and nothing moved one bit.
I didn't use any braces, just went right on the wheel wells. Looks like they handled it just fine.
I might consider using braces with thinner plywood, but I think thicker stuff is fine.
I decided to give my hybrid a try for a lumber run yesterday, since this order was on the smaller side compared to what I usually do. I've always used either my F350 or my cargo van in the past, oftentimes with a 22' flatbed, but I didn't need all that much space this time.
It ended up being a...
All in all, it sounds like your truck is acting normally. I don't think the truck gives much consideration to the health of the 12v battery when it's switching to the hybrid battery.
If the 12v battery is causing problems it might just be low from lack of use, and you could put a charger on it...
I paid cash as well, at a pre-negotiated price, which I'm sure took some leverage away from the finance guy. He tried using some high pressure tactics to sell me a warranty, but I didn't bite. He also had the wrong amount in the contract for the doc fee, but quickly changed it after I showed him...
I just turned all my seatbelt chimes and dash messages off using Forscan this past weekend. Now I don't have that annoying popup every time I start the truck, and it's awesome.
I've worked for years to have full-assed credit, and I'm proud of all that ass.
I broke plenty of cards back when I used a leather wallet. Granted, they usually cracked the long way, but it happens.
What happens if you put half a credit card in the slot? If it falls all the way down, how would you get it out? Would you have to turn the whole truck upside down and shake it out?
I'll be honest with you, I had some doubts that I made the right choice with the hybrid. It's been super cold here for most of the 5 weeks I've had it, and the mileage is just OK when it's cold. Running the heat, heated seats, and steering wheel takes a lot of power, and mileage suffers. That...
