Well, I decided to peruse my local dealership and one out of town to check for potential 25s. Sure enough, both of them got their first batch of 25s in. My order wasn't part of it but it's slated to arrive early next week. I have a 25 Lariat Hybrid AWD in Eruption Green on its way but today's spotting gave me an opportunity to finally see one in person. Since it's a Lariat, I chose this one as my candidate to sit and look around the most. It is a little different than mine. It's a Lariat but an Ecoboost in Ruby Red Metallic. Not a biggest fan of this color but it still gives me an idea of what to expect. Here are my first impressions.

- The front fascia is not as ugly as it's made out to be in pictures and video. It's not bad but I still like the 24 front end better. Not a deal breaker either.
- The interior is not as pronounced as it is in pictures and video either. The colors actually mesh well together. As an example, the orange trim isn't very bright. It's more like a burnt orange. Same goes for the Smoked Truffle seats. They're nicer to the eye compared to Desert Brown but definitely more muted in person.
- The new Sync 4 screen looks really nice. I couldn't play with it since it was off and I didn't bother to go get a salesman involved. It seems a bit low for eyesight though. It could've been placed just a little higher.
- The volume knob and redundant buttons on the center stack are a welcome touch. Yes, I know, they're not the HVAC vents that we all want but it is nice to still have some buttons and not have absolutely everything integrated into a screen (cough, Tesla 😠)

So far, I like what I see. I sure can't wait to see it in Eruption Green. If the numbers are right, I cannot wait to take delivery. If not, I'm happily complacent with my HPR Lariat FX4.

We have the same 25 build. I have been trying to find a Lariat to see in person to see the navy pier plastic with the green exterior but all my area dealers are XL and XLT with a sprinkling of Tremors.

The AC on screen was not a deal breaker but definitely took some getting use to.

A sales rep did talk me into test driving a Tremor and made me second guess my hybrid choice. The tremor interior fit is practically the same as the lariat just a different color and I really liked how it contrasted.

Coming from a smaller fun to drive car and with an almost 2 year old little human - the hybrid and seeking better mpg make more sense to help me slow down lol.

was there anything that blew you way on the one you looked at to help push you to upgrade?

It was hard to tell since I couldn't really play with it or test drive it. That was my own fault since I didn't want to get suckered into the sales office. This one pictured was from the dealer out of town so I definitely didn't want to give them my business since it wasn't even ordered there in the first place.

What does impress me more than anything is the stellar fuel economy even when equipped with AWD. Getting 40 mpg would be phenomenal since I drive in town 99% of the time. Also, the 360 degree camera and front parking sensors that display when you're pulling up to a parking spot. It'll display the front camera and activate the front parking sensors which is ideal when you can't tell how close to pull up to a spot. And having the gigantic 13.2" screen.

My wife’s rogue has the 360 camera and I always rag on her but now the lariat has it so she’s been giving me grief since I did the order.
Yea wonderful fuel efficiency for a truck. I just couldn’t justify a full-size or midsize truck for a daily vehicle
One feature, I discovered by accident is while you’re driving if you press the camera button on the Tremor, it activated the rear back up camera to serve as a rearview mirror, which would be handy if you have the bed load. I would assume the 25 lariat would have the same feature

I found a dealer with both Ruby Red and Eruption Green Mavericks yesterday. I think it's a nice red, and I love the green. The Lariat headlights make the new front end look a lot nicer to me vs. the other trims. Can't wait to get mine.

The red looks amazing! I like the new red a lot more than my HPR. My EG Lariat should be delivered in a week or two. I cannot wait!

We have ordered ours as well with an August delivery date. IF it looks like this, we accept it. But I have seen some videos (below) from dealers and the Maverick looks more orange than this. Also the added hood stripes that are not order, suck IMO.

I really hope ours is a gorgeous as this one!
