I did 2 things, I had the same complaint, I put a 1 inch shorter blade on the passenger side & then used a 'wiper puller' to loosen & reposition them so they are below the hood at rest. looks better & 'camera' still works.

Thanks for this, ordered a small puller from Amazon today

My experience is that wipers covered by the hood are a pain when clogged with snow and ice, at least where I roll.

That's my memory of that style wiper, too. I remember fighting with the wipers on my Chrysler Cordoba many times when that area would get filled with hardened snow.

It would be spring before they retracted fully into their designed parking spot. ;)

Do not like that wipers do not go down all the way beneath the hood (will fix another day by taking off and moving down one spline).
21" blade on passenger. Side was hitting windshield gasket flipping it around, 20" blade has fixed that for now.
When I move blades down a spline may need to change to 19" blade, not sure yet.

My wipers go down under the hood. A lot of people complain because they can't lift them up to change them. You should of had the dealer fix them.

If your wipers go under the hood, they're not aligned as Ford intended. There are bulls-eye marks on the windshield where the wipers are supposed to be aligned at rest, and they're not under the hood. The marks are round and at both ends of each wiper, four in total.

If you take it to the dealer, they will align the wipers to those marks. The OP wants the wipers lower than the factory marks, and the only way to accomplish that is to shorten the passenger-side blade and align the arms down one or two splines on the motor shaft.

Below is a picture of one of the factory alignment marks and one of where the wipers sit when properly aligned to them. If they are aligned lower than this, the passenger-side wiper will hit the cowl/windshield frame as the OP shows in his pictures.

I never realized those mark's were there. I appreciate you taking the time to show us. Thank You
Maybe someone will post pictures of their modified windshield wipers and how the shortened length manages to keep the camera clean.

You're welcome Glen. Ford has been doing the alignment marks for years, and this is the first Ford I've seen with the bulls-eye marks. I have seen others that have "I-beam" looking marks, like the cross-section of an I-beam.

I would like to see the modified pics too. If it only requires a 1" reduction in wiper length I think it should still clean the camera, since the reach over the camera would only be reduced 1/2". I wouldn't mind sinking mine down in there a bit if it works.

It appears to me that any shortening of the passenger wiper will lower the wiped area of the upper right of a tall driver. I am 6'1" and if I sit straight up my head will touch head liner and I would like drivers side 1/2"-3/4" higher now. I have adapted my driving position.

Yes, that is definitely a consideration for taller drivers. Shortening the passenger wiper 1" will reduce the height of it's wiped area by 1/2". I'm not that tall, and I use a fairly low seating postion.

say what now?

do you have a sunroof and your seat as high as it can go? or perhaps a 30" inseam and very long torso?

because I am 6'0" with a 32" inseam and I don't have a sunroof, and I can sit in my Maverick with a helmet on and it isn't that close to touching the headliner.

Yes I have a sunroof!
I have a 28 1/4" inseam get by with 29" pants. Son is 6'4" with 34" inseam.
Seat is in compromised height with wife so only interior mirror needs adjusting.
Learned to drive about 12 years old moving customers cars, pickups, bobtail and loading them. Guys with semi's didn't want any kid in their cab. So learned to not touch seat settings.
