I believe so yes, but the tweeters and other speakers have inline crossovers as far as I’m aware.

So do you think the proline box is too small? Airspace says there’s enough space, I can put some poly fill in there maybe to make up for it if slightly undersized- it also does fill the void between the 2 spaces

that box is basically the same as the sound decisions box. it should work ok, slightly undersized.

I wonder if it’s like the sound decision box, I looked up sound decision box and it has some structure inside taking up air space

all my JL stealth boxes never had internal supports like this

If one had no supports and other one did, I’d pick one without for more airspace personally

Question, I found out there’s a 12v in there hybrids in the rear below seat by these sub boxes locations.
Is there any reason why we can’t gap this as power source for the amp?

I don’t want to ruin my battery if this is not used the same as the battery under hood. Just curious as that would make install much easier

May get a .6 box and use a 10tw3 @ 400 watts. It only needs .5 air and should sound pretty good.

The hybrid does not have a 12v battery under the hood. It is under the rear seat.

From the threads I have read, hybrid owners draw power for sub's by connecting positive to the under seat 12v battery and ground to the back wall behind the seat.

You’re awesome! That is an awesome little benefit install wise. Could be the shortest install time of any vehicle I ever owned lol

Will install a battery tender pigtail as well, assuming one on positive battery terminal and then a ground not on battery that way the bms system detects/tracks charging into it

It threw me off because I’ve seen pics of batteries in engine bays, was unaware they was ecoboost and different than hybrids

this is correct. do not connect anything to the negative terminal on the battery itself. everything attached to a solid chassis ground will go to the negative terminal anyway, but it passes through the battery monitor.

many people have connected directly to the battery negative, but Ford's documentation is very clear and it's easy enough to use something else as ground.

I know one last question, if I got a larger box that took up the area like proline and sound box we mentioned, where is the best place to put a normal sized amp? I could put it in the little cubby on other side of the battery, but would like to keep that for actual storage lose items.

If you know any hiding spots or where others are common to fix amps out of sight I’d appreciate the where’s

I think I saw pic of all in one subwoofers behind seats, so that could work.

yep, I got a great idea of what im doing now. im going to order the .6 cubic foot box and toss my w3v3 into it paired with JD500 and see how it sounds from there. some threads mentioned sound deadening, why not. grab a little box of it as well and do it while im at it.

Dealership told me 25's arrive in a few days so will get to go check them out.

I would 100% do that also since you own the sub already.

the box is only slightly undersized for a 10w3v3- it may perform fine for your needs. I do think that the math behind the specs is straightforward, so I know it's not ideal, but is it acceptable? only one way to find out!

if doesn't work, I could break the bank, and toss a 10w6v3, its .55 vs .625 for the w3. or just go to a tw3 or something else entirely. I know that I really enjoy my 10w3v3, so I bet the 10w6v3 is insane too.
the JD500 would fit perfectly for powering it as well. (it'll power anything I need in the vehicle regardless) its a good amp to me.

Do you guys know how high the level is stock to b&o? Just curious. I guess if I did need to use high level input jd500 only sees up to 10volts of signal. Meanwhile I guess some kickers can see up to 50volts of signal

in theory if I didn’t change forscan to line level out.

high voltage line drivers are old school stuff meant to improve signal to noise ratio between the source and any sound processors (like an audiocontrol EQL). I'm not aware of anyone doing that anymore and the prevalence of DSPs is a big reason why.

a LOT of people have removed the B&O 6x9 sub and tied that into speaker-level input into an amp or powered sub without issue. when I did mine over 2 years ago there was not a lot of info about it and I wanted to be able to have more control, so I have mine going into a stinger line-out converter that has gains on it. (it turned out that I didn't need to adjust the gains on the LOC and I could have skipped it.)

Thank you: I doubt I have any issue I just read about volt limits this morning.
Thanks! Will post more when I get truck and actually bust into this

I’m giving my Scion tc to my friends daughter, told him I’m pulling my sub and amp, he said he’d give me the 275 for amp and 400 for sub to just leave in there for her, makes sense already there and tuned

If i do that, I have 700sh bucks free to start. I googled and ran into this reading about Subwoofers and mavericks

https://www.crutchfield.com/S-ZrecNCG48Ak/p_20651HS10/Kicker-51HS10.html

Part of me likes the idea of mounting this on rear wall, keeps undereat storage trays open for misc stuff like gym belts and all that

How let down would I be going from my idea of .6 box and my 10w3v3 / 500 watt amp to that little guy?

if it has a good hit, fills the bass I’m happy. Saves space too. But if it’s awful, will just buy another sub / amp since he’s paying for it

Also random, since it’s a weaker sub, would this be better on mpg/charging system of my hybrid Maverick? It’s irrelevant just curious how high voltage sub affects hybrids

180 watts vs 500
